In its latest iteration, the 2025 BMW X3 showcases a sleeker, more expansive design aimed at offering enhanced functionality and advanced features. With revised model nomenclature, the new X3 for 2025 bids farewell to rear-wheel drive configurations, embracing a host of standard equipment additions.

Unveiling 2025 BMW X3

Scheduled for release in the final quarter of 2024, the 2025 BMW X3 will commence at $50,675, introducing fresh aesthetics, two hybrid powertrain options, and cutting-edge BMW infotainment technology to elevate the driving experience.

With a refreshed exterior and interior design, the 2025 X3 debuts with updated aesthetics and a choice between a four-cylinder or six-cylinder engine. Noteworthy changes include a revised naming convention and the integration of BMW's latest operating system within the iDrive media setup.

As detailed by Autoweek, the 2025 BMW X3 has larger proportions as well. Its width is now 75.6 inches instead of 74.4 inches like the previous model. With a front track width of 63.5 inches and a rear track width of 65.3 inches, the 2025 model's track width has also been adjusted. This represents a little departure from the track specifications of the previous model.

In terms of aesthetics, the front end reveals a fresh fascia adorned with updated kidney bean grilles. These twin grilles appear larger yet exude a more restrained vibe compared to certain bold designs from BMW. Additionally, the revised front introduces new headlamps, offering the option for full cornering LED lights to enhance visibility and style.

Other Upgrades, Details

Noteworthy enhancements extend to the BMW X3, encompassing its design ethos and interior. Report from Road & Track highlighted the revamped bodywork that aligns the X3 with the current corporate design language, drawing influence from models like the iX and M2.

While the X3 presents a stylish appearance, particularly in X3 30 trim, some observers find it slightly less striking than its predecessor. Customers opting for the X3 30 xDrive model can select from a range of 11 metallic exterior colors, while the M50 variant offers a selection of one solid and nine metallic hues.

Moreover, vehicles manufactured at the Spartanburg facility will offer access to over 15 BMW Individual paint options, providing a diverse array of customization possibilities. Central to the latest X3 lineup are two hybrid powertrains that drive innovation forward.

The X3 30 xDrive variants feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter B48 4-cylinder engine, reengineered for the 2025 model year. This updated engine now operates on the efficient Miller combustion cycle, enhancing performance by optimizing intake valve timing.

With redesigned intake components and combustion chambers maximizing this technology, alongside a dual injection system for precise fuel mixture control, the engine achieves impressive output ratings of 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Coupled with a 48-volt mild hybrid system integrated into the 8-speed transmission, this setup enables the 4-cylinder to propel the SUV from 0-60 mph in a swift six seconds, benefiting from the traction provided by the all-wheel-drive configuration.

Pricing, BMW X30

The 2025 BMW X3 portfolio is optimized on efficiency and performance, with no plug-in hybrid model available. The new model, which MotorAuthority said has a starting price of $50,675, is expected to be released later this year.

This pricing includes a $1,175 destination charge, reflecting a modest $780 increment compared to the previous model year. In terms of driving dynamics, BMW emphasizes enhanced agility and cornering prowess in the latest X3 iteration, attributed to design improvements such as a stiffer body structure and a wider track width for improved stability and handling capabilities.
