Ferrari announced a new extended battery warranty program. It's not one but two extended warranties for its plug-in hybrids. These new warranty extension programs will allow Ferrari car owners to replace their batteries at given periods.

Warranty Extension Hybrid, Power Hybrid Programs

Ferrari is all set for its extended battery warranty programs. The car manufacturer will offer the Warranty Extension Hybrid and Power Hybrid Programs. Ferrari car owners who will avail of these plans will have a battery during their 8th and 16th year of ownership.

The best thing about it is it comes at no cost.

As reported by CarScoops, While Ferrari refrained from disclosing specific pricing details, indications from earlier reports have hinted at an approximate annual cost of $7,500 for the proposed programs.

Named Warranty Extension Hybrid and Power Hybrid, these initiatives are geared towards meeting the needs of individuals looking to uphold the performance and distinction of their hybrid Ferrari sports cars over time. Essentially, these plans aim to safeguard the drivability of your vehicle, shielding you from any significant unforeseen repair expenses.

The company did not outline pricing specifics explicitly. Yet they highlighted that participants in the Warranty Extension Hybrid scheme who want to extend their warranty up to the eighth year of ownership will receive a complimentary replacement of their high-voltage battery pack.

On the other hand, the Power Hybrid program caters to long-standing owners by prolonging the factory warranty coverage for all key powertrain components, including those associated with the hybrid system, from year 8 to year 16. Furthermore, this plan includes replacing the high-voltage battery pack at no additional charge in the sixteenth year.

Ferrari hinted at the possibility of owners receiving a more advanced battery pack in the future. They mentioned that if there are advancements in battery technology, the replacement high-voltage battery will be a cutting-edge component, maintaining performance levels similar to the original one. This implies the potential for substantial enhancements in battery technology over time.

Ferrari stated that the warranties are transferable to subsequent owners as part of the long-term plans. While details were limited, it was highlighted that any authorized Ferrari dealer can initiate these warranties, extending coverage even to cars beyond their original factory warranty period. However, activating the warranties will necessitate a "technical inspection" conducted by Ferrari dealer staff.

What is Included in these Extended Battery Warranties

Reuters outlined that the initiative is designed to assist owners in maintaining the resale worth of their Ferraris as batteries, crucial for the efficiency of electrified vehicles, degrade over time. Additionally, Ferrari presently provides a five-year warranty on the hybrid powertrain components.

These dual programs, transferrable to future owners, are intended to uphold the long-term performance and quality of hybrid Ferraris, as per the company's statement.

The Warranty Extension Hybrid and Power Hybrid programs come with forms of extended factory warranty. This warranty applies to the entire car and major powertrain parts.

EV Battery Warranty Annual Subscription

In other news for Ferrari, the brand will offer a yearly subscription for its EV battery warranty. Green Car Reports revealed the annual subscription fee is estimated to be around $7,500, encompassing services such as battery replacements every eight years.
