Cadillac has officially unveiled the Opulent Velocity concept, placing intrigue on the automaker's vision and future for its EVs.
The automaker defines the Opulent Velocity as a design study, as per Car and Driver. With a glossy appearance, its presence stands out due to its low structure and Gilded Pearl color scheme that boasts a classy look.
Its exterior features a distinctive hood and LED lights. A "crystal fluting" signature is also placed at the back end. The concept suggests that Opulent Velocity's doors will be butterfly-shaped.
Inside, the vehicle is glazed with lighting elements, from its dashboard to its doors. The back seats are also one with the door panels, diverting from the usual seat arrangement and offering a futuristic look.
The dashboard comes with a widescreen display on top and the steering wheel is also accompanied by a separate center screen. Once activated through a voice command, the Cadillac will flex an infotainment system.
As for the cabin's color, the whole space is in Selene Blue, while 3D printing will be implemented for the interior trim. The seats are also made from flax fibers that come along with a silver pearl pigment.

Cadillac also shared that the vehicle is arriving in two modes; "Opulent" and "Velocity." The Opulent experience will mainly focus on giving drivers a smooth driving experience.
Drivers are likely to get immersed in its automatic hands-free driving system and augmented reality head-up display. The soothing experience will be complemented by the environment, as the vehicle will also consider factors such as the weather and times of day.
As for the "Velocity" mode, the vehicle will make use of its standard head-up display for this one. The concept suggests that this mode will enable drivers to engage with a "competitive driving" experience to track their laps.
Road overlays can also be shown in the head-up display and drivers can receive details regarding road conditions.
According to Driven Car Guide, Cadillac Advanced Design manager Magalie Debellis said that the vehicle will "signal" the company's intention to lead the electric vehicle sector's future.
