Stellantis will face another strike this 2024 due to its declining output.
Unions from Italy have called a strike against the automaker on Oct. 18, Reuters reported Tuesday. The strike will involve the participation of the local metal workers and suppliers, who will protest against Stellantis' declining production in Italy.
The outlet also shared that most of the automaker's Italian plants have observed a decline during 2024's first half, and an estimated 25% decrease has been recorded by the FIM-CISL union.
Stellantis was expected by the union to make around half a million cars in Italy this 2024, which would rival its 751,000 figure from last year. In a conference with the FIOM and FIM-CISL leaders, Rocco Palombella of UILM shared how bad the situation is.

Facilities in Italy have repeatedly halted opperations for the past several months, as unfortunate factors such as poor market demand affected workers. The arrangement to increase vehicle output was made between the union and the Italian government, but no official agreement was set.
Amid the pending strike, the attention of Chinese automakers was called by Rome to draw in manufacturers to join Stellantis. Palombella added that the strategy to attract a new carmaker while demanding Stellantis' increased production was being doubted by the unions.
