Ford Motor Co. shared its major decision to cut the production for F-150 Lightning electric pickup trucks. The company will soon lessen the number of F-150 Lightning production on average every week. The manufacturer stated that the changing market demand was a prevailing factor for such decision.
Adjustment: Cutting Weekly Production
This January a significant change in Rouge Electric Vehicle Center production will happen. Ford informed its suppliers that F-150 Lightning production will lessen to an average 1,600 units per week. Yahoo News shared this latest development with Ford Motor Co.
It cited a report from The Cooldown. The company stated that it will continue to match Lightning Production to customer demand. Cutting F-150 Lighting Production comes after Ford's CEO, John Lawler's statement. According to reports, the CEO said Ford was being judicious about its production. In line with this, the company is adjusting future capacity to better match market demand for its electric vehicle business.
Furthermore, he described the EV environment as dynamic. Ford said earlier this month that since the beginning of the year, more than 20,300 F-150 Lightning trucks have been bought in the U.S. The company said that this number, which was a 53.6% year-over-year rise, included sales of almost 4,400 in November.
Prior to this move of cutting F-150 Lightning Production, Ford slashed its price by almost $10,000. According to The Cooldown, electronic vehicles are piling up at dealerships. Many of them are struggling with sales and reaching profitable sales volumes. This is despite the fact they were manufactured by renowned auto manufacturers.
F-150 Lightning drops from $59,974 to $49,995 for its most affordable version. This electric pickup truck won the 2023 Truck of the Year award. Recently, F-10 Lightning made the headlines at The Cooldown's website.

This electric pickup truck demonstrated its reliability and strength. As shared on the report, during the December blizzard in 2022, freezing temperatures spread across the U.S. and to upward parts of Canada. Such natural occurrence resulted to massive power outages. Millions of lives were at risk from the life-threatening cold.
But in Ontario, a resident was able to keep their home warm and lighted. This was made possible through his Ford Lightning electric vehicle as a power source. According to The Cooldown, the man ran tow extension cords from the outlets of his Ford pickup truck's batteries.
These were connected into his home. Thus, enabling him to power lights, refrigerator, and some other appliances. Even the WiFi for 48 hours. All this happen while the power grid in his area was knocked out.
