As The Year of the Dragon commences, Rolls-Royce Dragon inspired and special editions are unveiled. As reported in Autoblog, many customers who purchase a new Rolls-Royce opt to personalize it through the brand's Bespoke department. Recently, four buyers made requests for cars inspired by the Year of the Dragon, which commences on February 10 in China. The company is highlighting the intricate design modifications it undertook.
This set of four Lunar New Year-themed vehicles comprises three units of the Phantom Extended and one example of the Cullinan. Surprisingly, not all of these cars are destined for the Chinese market; Rolls-Royce reveals that the orders originated from three different continents. To commence the customization process, the designers crafted a bespoke dragon logo specifically for these four builds. The logo is meticulously either hand-stitched or hand-painted, depending on its application.
One of the Phantom Extended models showcases a dual-tone Cherry Red and silver exterior, adorned with hand-painted Phoenix Red pinstripes and featuring the dragon logo on each fender. Meanwhile, the Cullinan boasts a Selby Gray and Cherry Red finish complemented by white pinstripes and logos. The second Phantom, on the other hand, sports a black exterior with Phoenix Red pinstripes but lacks the dragon logos.

The process of painting the dragon logo found on the dashboard in three out of the four cars is intricate and time-consuming, spanning over two weeks. Rolls-Royce emphasizes that this logo is meticulously crafted by a single artist, who meticulously overlays multiple shades of red in four distinct stages to achieve a striking 3D effect.
Moreover, upon gazing upward, another dragon reveals itself in the form of the Starlight headliner. This intricate design comprises 677 stars meticulously arranged to outline the shape of a dragon, with an additional 667 stars scattered across the panel. The creation of this headliner involved over three months of design work and requires over 20 hours to fabricate.
As of now, Rolls-Royce has not disclosed the pricing details for each of these bespoke commissions.

As per CarScoops, the collection comprises a single Cullinan and three Phantom Extended cars, promoted as a "remarkable global tribute to Chinese cultural legacy." Despite this, the company isn't confining the models to China, citing that the country's culture surpasses geographical borders.
The distinctiveness of these vehicles is evident at first glance, featuring a dual-tone scheme and a hand-painted coachline adorned with a dragon pattern. Notably, each dragon is oriented to the right, symbolizing the East - the direction of sunrise.
