In 2023 Kia observed an increasing number of complaints related to loose or detached roof moldings in their Sportage SUVs and Carnival minivans through field reports. This concern prompted Kia North America Safety Office to communicate with Kia Corporation in South Korea, leading to duplication tests for vehicles ranging from model years 2022 to 2024 for Carnivals and 2023 to 2024 for Sportages.
