Toyota announced a recall of over 280,000 Tundra, Sequoia, and Lexus LX 600 vehicles in the US. The transmission issue could cause the cars to drift forward when in neutral. Forbes reports that a software update will be provided to address the potential safety risk, with notifications to owners by late April. This follows a previous recall of one million vehicles for a different issue in Canada and the US.
Toyota has issued a "Do Not Drive" warning to owners of 50,000 older vehicles in the U.S. due to a potentially deadly airbag inflator issue. These vehicles include certain Corolla, Corolla Matrix, and RAV4 models from 2003-2005 equipped with Takata airbag inflators, which have been linked to numerous deaths and injuries.
