Amid a period of transformation, Buick is ushering in a new era with the introduction of a cutting-edge design inspired by the Wildcat EV concept. The company has launched an innovative tagline and brand campaign, "Setting the Standard," embodied by the striking gold Wildcat EV model.

Buick's Latest EV Concept

With the captivating Wildcat EV concept, Buick continues to command attention and signals a major change for GM's premium brand. This action is in accordance with the launch of the brand's new tagline, "Setting the Standard," which the Wildcat EV represents as the company's new philosophy.

As shared by Electrek, Buick unveiled its latest design on Tuesday, drawing inspiration from the innovative Wildcat EV. The company emphasized that its distinctive "Excellence in design" ethos will gradually permeate the entire brand. With a claim of being the "fastest-growing mainstream brand in the industry in 2023," Buick highlighted that over 70% of its sales originated from new customers.

The chief marketing officer at Buick and GMC Global, Molly Peck, stated that by integrating the design language of the Wildcat EV into the 2024 Encore GX and the all-new Envista, they have discovered that exquisite design and understated luxury distinguish Buick in the marketplace.

Despite not having introduced its initial EV in the US market, Buick has been actively marketing electric vehicles in China since 2022. Through GM's collaborative effort with SAIC-GM, Buick unveiled its inaugural Ultium-based EV, the Electra E5, in November 2022, followed by the release of the Electra E4 just two months later. Additionally, last summer saw the debut of the new Velite 6, available from $15,500 (112,800 yuan), further solidifying Buick's presence in the electric vehicle segment.

According to Autoblog, as customary, it approached Buick to provide any updates or insights regarding the Wildcat EV as it takes center stage in a brand campaign.

The statement from Buick emphasizes that the Wildcat EV concept remains a fundamental guiding principle for Buick's design, with Wildcat-inspired elements present throughout the range, starting with the current Encore GX and Envista, and potentially extending to the 24MY Envision and 25MY Enclave. The company clarified that there are no current plans to bring the vehicle into production; it is strictly conceptual at this time.

Buick's Bold Move in Gold: Wildcat EV

In an exciting move, Buick has introduced the "Exceptional by design" initiative, which honors the brand's heritage while setting its sights on the future. The forthcoming 2024 Buick Envision and 2025 Enclave are set to pioneer this fresh design approach.

Buick released a compelling film to introduce the new motto and design philosophy, paying homage to the brand's historic past while providing a tantalizing glimpse of what's to come. Notably, the sleek gold Wildcat EV makes a striking appearance towards the video's conclusion, adding an intriguing dimension to the showcase.

Buick's Buyout in U.S.

As reported in Detroit Press General Motors shared many of its Buick dealers decided to buyout this year rather than commit to the sales and maintenance of electric vehicles, in keeping with the automaker's larger objective to transition to an all-electric portfolio by 2030.

Consequently, GM projects that by the end of 2023, there will be roughly 1,000 Buick dealerships nationwide-a substantial 47% decrease from the beginning of the year.
