Rolls-Royce enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the updated Ghost can now opt for the exclusive Ghost Prism. Launched to commemorate the brand's 120th anniversary, this special edition sedan will have a production run matching the age of Rolls-Royce. Despite being considered the "entry-level" model, the Ghost remains a symbol of exclusivity, with the Prism edition adding an even greater allure at a price starting at almost $350,000.

Rolls-Royce Celebrates 120th Anniversary: Ghost Prism

As per Motor Authority, Rolls-Royce has initiated prototype testing for an upgraded Ghost, offering a new alternative for those unwilling to wait. The Ghost Prism, a special edition introduced in celebration of Rolls-Royce's 120th anniversary, will feature a production run aligning with the automaker's illustrious history.

The report shared that the Ghost Prism from Rolls-Royce draws inspiration from the realm of contemporary design and incorporates options typically favored by individuals in the fashion and design sectors. This is reflected in its Gunmetal gray exterior, complemented by a choice of four colors: Phoenix Red, Turchese, Mandarin, and Forge Yellow.

The exterior paint is meticulously crafted, comprising four layers that undergo a hand-sanding process lasting approximately 16 hours to achieve its distinctive finish. The special edition Ghost Prism features a shadow finish called Burnout for certain elements, such as the grille, typically finished in mirror-polished stainless steel.

The selected accent color extends to the interior, adorning the dashboard, steering wheel, seat piping, stitching, and the Starlight headliner, which boasts 1,040 individually installed fiber-optic light elements. Its powertrain remains unchanged, housing a twin-turbocharged 6.8-liter V-12 engine generating 563 hp.

The updated Ghost, set for release next year, showcases new designs for the headlights, taillights, and front fascia based on recent prototype sightings.

As per Autoblog's report, Rolls-Royce has announced the production of only 120 units of the car to commemorate its 120th anniversary in 2024, although the number of units already sold remains undisclosed. As is customary, affluent clients and prominent figures often received priority access to exclusive models, serving as mobile brand ambassadors.

The brand achieved unprecedented success last year, with over 6,000 vehicles sold in 2023, driven by remarkable growth in the American market and record-breaking expansion in the Middle East.

Options for Ghost Prism

Customers have the option to select from four accent colors: Forge Yellow, Mandarin, Phoenix Red, and Mandarin. According to Rolls-Royce, the coachline, lower bumper inserts, and brake calipers all use these colors to complement the "mechanical, aerodynamic, and sculptural elements of Ghost."

Additionally, the interior features Rolls-Royce's renowned Starlight Headliner adorned with 1,040 individual LED "stars" across the interior roof.

Despite these exclusive features being key selling points for the Ghost Prism, Rolls-Royce highlighted that buyers still have access to its complete range of colors, materials, and options. It's common for customers to further elevate the already high purchase prices by several thousand dollars, significantly raising the average purchase price above the listed figures.

As shared by TopGear, Anders Warming, the design director at Rolls-Royce, the company takes cues from the preferences and aspirations of its clients, who often influence global trends in fashion and the broader luxury industry. The Ghost Prism's creative incorporation of dark, understated hues with delicate touches of color positions it squarely within the modern luxury sphere.

While the pricing for this special edition has not been officially disclosed, it is anticipated to surpass the standard Ghost's initial price point of £270,000 by a significant margin.
