Polestar 3 Offers Surprising Price Reduction Months Before Scheduled Deliveries

Polestar has revealed the details of its U.S. price as it prepares to begin shipping the much-awaited Polestar 3. This electric midsize SUV boasts a remarkable 517 horsepower power output, spacious accommodation for five people, and elegant Swedish design.

Notably, Polestar has revealed the Polestar 3's US pricing information ahead of the upcoming production launch. The revelation includes a noteworthy price cut from the initial projections, marking a substantial adjustment that reflects the evolving landscape of the EV market. With this update, the Polestar 3 is set to hit the market with a starting price of $74,800, which includes the $1,400 destination fee.

Polestar: Price Cut for Latest Car

Production of the Polestar 3 only recently commenced after its October 2022 introduction, with the first batch being produced in China. In the US, South Carolina production is scheduled to start in the upcoming months. Polestar has revealed the price of the upcoming 3 SUV in the US market ahead of time. As The Verge reported Polestar, first revealed that the SUV will start at $83,900, establishing it as a luxury car.

Polestar now states that the all-wheel drive Polestar 3 Long Range will begin at $73,400, or $74,800 with the destination charge, suggesting a significant price cut. This is a huge decrease from the initial predicted price, with delivery expected in the summer of 2024 and production set to begin in the second quarter of the same year.

Every Polestar 3 will have a standard Polestar Pilot pack. It has lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, adaptive lane changes. All and the heads-up display are available along driver-assistance systems. Many car brands charge an additional fee for these capabilities.

For customers seeking additional enhancements, such as the 1,610-watt Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 25 speakers and a unique fresh air subwoofer, along with "bio-attributed" MicroTech and animal welfare wool seats, heated rear seats, and 21-inch wheels, they have the option to select the $5,500 Plus pack package, bringing the total to $78,900, or $80,300 including the destination charge.

Power, Other Features

All Polestar 3 models for the 2025 lineup that are available in the US, according to information from Motor1.com, have dual motors for all-wheel drive capability and are powered by a battery pack that holds 111.0 kWh and can enable DC fast charging at up to 250 kW.

With a total power output of 489 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque, the base model can reach 60 mph in 5.0 seconds. With the power raised to 517 hp and 671 lb-ft for the performance variations, an amazing 4.7 seconds is achieved in the sprint.

Opting for the Performance Pack not only enhances performance through software tuning but also includes attractive additions such as 22-inch forged wheels, chassis adjustments, and distinctive gold accents.

Choosing the Performance version entails accepting a notable decrease in efficiency, as the range decreases by 36 miles compared to a standard Polestar 3. It's worth noting that all models are eligible for a Polestar Clean Vehicle Incentive of $7,500 on lease transactions, regardless of the chosen model.
