The 2024 CLE Cabriolet, has a starting price of $64,350 and boasts top luxury amenities. The 255hp CLE 300 4MATIC and the more potent 375hp CLE 450 4MATIC are the two possible alternatives. Maximum efficiency is guaranteed in both versions by a 48-volt mild hybrid system.

2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet

According to HotCars, the much-anticipated 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet will mark a significant shift in field of luxury vehicles. This brand-new four-seat convertible shows sophistication by combining the open-air driving experience with state-of-the-art technology. Based on the updated Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe, the Cabriolet variant will make its seductive retail debut in the United States later this spring, with a starting price of $64,350.

Car & Driver reports that, similar to its coupe version, the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet of 2024 is offered in two different configurations, the CLE300 and the CLE450, which sit between the C-Class and E-Class categories. The CLE450's 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged engine, which produces an amazing 369 pound-feet of torque and 375 horsepower, is carried over from the E450 cabriolet.

Combining all-wheel drive with a smooth nine-speed automatic transmission and a refined engine sound, the CLE450 offers a refined driving experience. It exhibits confident acceleration when needed and responds elegantly to light throttle adjustments. In the meantime, the CLE300, which shares parts with its sedan cousin, has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is similar to the C300.

Regrettably, the two CLE models tested were outfitted with the Dynamic Body Control suspension featuring adaptive dampers, which won't be available in the United States. Instead, American models will come with passive dampers and steel springs, with the CLE450 featuring a stiffer configuration.

Evaluating the U.S.-spec version will be of interest, as chief engineer Oliver Metzger notes that the convertible was specifically calibrated to offer slightly more body movement than the C-Class sedan, aiming to evoke a sensation reminiscent of the E-Class.

More About CLE Cabriolet: Driving Modes

As per The Car Guide, on the road, the four-cylinder engine displays commendable adaptability and offers consistent acceleration, albeit without the thrilling bursts or distinctive character. Additionally, its sound becomes less appealing at higher RPMs. Opting for a smoother driving style while avoiding overtaxing the engine is advisable.

Various driving modes are available, including Sport mode, which enhances steering firmness and responsiveness of the nine-speed automatic transmission. ESC intervention is also calibrated accordingly. However, these adjustments don't significantly alter the driving dynamics.

The emphasis of the CLE Cabriolet lies more in providing a stable and relaxed cruising experience rather than delivering sporty handling. In truth, this aligns perfectly with the preferences of the majority of luxury car buyers.

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet presents itself with elegant aesthetics that capture attention effortlessly. Its user-friendly MBUX system enhances the driving experience, seamlessly integrating technology with ease of use. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the interior boasts excellent fit and finish, elevating the sense of luxury.

A comfortable ride further enhances its appeal, promising a serene journey. However, the car's weight poses a drawback, affecting agility and fuel efficiency. While the existing powertrain performs adequately, the option for a more potent 6-cylinder engine would address concerns about its performance.

Additionally, the aircap feature, while intended to minimize wind disturbance, contributes to unwanted noise. Furthermore, limited rear space, exacerbated by near-upright seatbacks, compromises comfort for passengers seated in the back.
