JoeBen Bevirt, CEO of Joby, hailed New York City's global leadership and emphasized that his electric air taxis will make emissions-free flight an affordable and everyday reality for New Yorkers. He subtly criticized traditional helicopters for their high decibel levels, highlighting that Joby's electric air taxis, based on tests with NASA, will produce noise levels of just 45.2 decibels at 1,640 feet, akin to a normal human conversation or a quiet suburban area at night. In contrast, conventional jets at 100 feet generate a significantly louder 140 decibels. This showcases the quieter and more environmentally friendly nature of Joby's air taxis.

Electric Air Taxi: A Solution

Meanwhile, I Inc. shared that Joby is in the process of constructing a facility in Dayton, Ohio, with plans to manufacture 500 aircraft annually by the conclusion of 2025. Their ultimate objective is to extend their services beyond airports. JoeBen Bevirt, the CEO, explained that as the ground infrastructure expands and their network becomes more extensive, they will be able to offer their services on a wider range of trips, even those with lower passenger density, thanks to the increasing number of users in their network.
