The new models will also have a new Honda "H" logo as part of the company's shift to electric vehicles. Honda Motor is finally getting up to speed in the EV market with the debut of the Honda O Series at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The Japanese automaker has been slow to pivot to the EV trend as there are no fully electric models offered in the U.S. The company recently called off its joint venture to develop an EV with General Motors (GM) citing a "challenging business environment."

Reports stated that production of the new 0-Series, two concepts of which were on display at CES, is scheduled to start in 2026, the Japanese manufacturer said. Honda is on an ambitious path towards electric mobility, pledging a substantial $40 billion investment to develop 30 new electric vehicles worldwide by 2030.

They've also committed to selling only zero-emission vehicles in key markets by 2040. However, Honda currently lags behind competitors in the fully electric vehicle market, with no fully electric models available in the U.S., though they've offered such models in the past, particularly in California.

Honda introduced two concept vehicles within the Honda 0 Series: the Saloon and the Space-Hub. The term "saloon" in automotive context is synonymous with a sedan, more commonly used in British English. Interestingly, the Saloon concept, despite its name, resembles a hatchback, featuring a sleek, low profile that culminates in a squared-off rear.

Within the Honda O Series, the Space-Hub concept exhibits a taller stature, akin to a van in its overall body design. This vehicle features a roomy and adaptable interior capable. This can accomodate "diverse range of passengers," as stated by Honda. Visual representations of the interior depict extended bench seats encircling the rear and sides of the vehicle.

Honda has not disclosed any details regarding the potential release date or availability of a product similar to the Space-Hub.

Reports shared that Honda's management has yet to announce the order in which the various O-Series variants will be introduced or which global markets, such as Asia, America, or Europe, they will be intended for. Additionally, there is a lack of information regarding the technological aspects.

Honda only alluding to the possibility of reduced charging times and improved durability for the unique flat batteries, though they have not shared precise details. Honda views this new model lineup as a new beginning and aims to underscore this with the O-Series name, accompanied by a revamped brand logo set to debut alongside their inaugural electric model.
