At an entry price of $21,495, the Chevrolet Trax emerges as a notable option in a market where a mere 12% of new vehicles come with a price tag below $30,000, especially during a period when almost 50% of consumers aim to invest less than $30,000 in their upcoming car acquisition. This pricing approach positions the Trax advantageously for a substantial segment of potential buyers. For this year, Cars.com named Chevrolet as Trax Best Car of 2024.

According to Cars.com the methodology behind the awards they give, focuses on three main pillars: quality, innovation, and value. The Chevrolet Trax was named Cars.com's Best Car of 2024, recognizing its excellent blend of quality, innovation, and value.
Jenni Newman, Cars.com's Editor in Chief, commended the reasonably priced Chevrolet Trax as a significant entrant to the Best of category, attaining the unusual mix of great quality, cutting-edge innovation, and exceptional value. Despite being less priced than the previous year's model, the Trax keeps all of its upgraded features, making it a good choice for budget-conscious shoppers.

Specs, Features

As per Car and Driver, the latest Trax model presents a greater value proposition with increased legroom and remains free from continuously variable transmissions (CVTs).However, the RS trim lacks performance increase, with slow acceleration and a clunky transmission.
In summary, while the new Trax impresses with its extensive equipment selection and ample space for its price point, it sacrifices performance and driving fun to achieve its good value.

Following a short break, the Chevy Trax returns, boasting more standard amenities than its predecessors. Completely redesigned, it features a lengthier wheelbase that allows for additional legroom in the rear and a larger cargo area. Unlike its earlier versions that were available in just two trims, the Trax now comes in five distinct trim levels.

This iteration adopts the 137-horsepower turbocharged three-cylinder engine from the Trailblazer, resulting in an 18 horsepower decrease from the former model's 155 horsepower, which is a notable drop given the initial power output.

As per Edmunds, the revised 2024 Chevy Trax stands out for its many amenities at a cheap price. It has lots of seating and a large cargo area, making it an attractive option in the extra-small SUV market. It also includes an optional 11-inch center touchscreen that is both roomy and easy to use. However, a noteworthy negative is the lack of an all-wheel drive option. New for 2024, the Trax has been thoroughly revamped and emerges as Chevy's most affordable SUV option. Despite its position as the entry-level model, it comes impressively equipped with a range of features.

Inside, the Trax comfortably accommodates four average-sized adults without the need for front passengers to adjust their seats forward to make space for rear occupants. Additionally, the cargo space in the Trax is notably expansive for its category. With a capacity of 25.6 cubic feet, it not only surpasses its previous dimensions but also exceeds the cargo space offered by most of its competitors in the same class.
