In February, Kia America achieved sales of 59,059 units, and the sales of their electric vehicle (EV) models saw a significant 65% year-over-year increase. The ongoing launch of the award-winning EV9 3-row EV SUV contributed to this growth. While the exact number of EV sales in February was not disclosed by Kia, it is estimated that they sold approximately 4,000 EVs during the month and nearly 7,500 between January and February.

According to PR Newswire, Kia's robust and capable SUV lineup experienced a 6% year-over-year increase, representing 76% of the total sales in February. Notably, three Kia models achieved record-breaking February sales: Carnival (+48%), Sportage (+18%), and Forte (+8%).
Vice president of Sales Operations at Kia America, Eric Watson, voiced assurance about the brand's dominant position in the market. He credited their success to the sustained appeal of their SUVs and the rising demand for their cutting-edge EVs and electrified cars.

Kia's EV9
As per Car and Driver's review, the EV9 stands out as a pioneering family-friendly electric vehicle choice, and initial impressions suggest it's shaping up to be a resounding success. The EV9 range kicks off with the rear-wheel-drive Light trim, equipped with a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 215 horsepower.
Meanwhile, the Light Long Range variant also features rear-wheel drive but incorporates a larger battery, resulting in a peak power output of 201 horses. For all-wheel-drive models, a dual-motor setup delivers a combined 379 horsepower, with an optional Boost mode for heightened torque output and enhanced acceleration.
