A customer satisfaction program has been implemented by GM in response to a problem with the dashboard storage tray of the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq. Nevertheless, the notice is vague regarding the nature of the issue. This initiative aims to provide a fix for certain units of the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq, enhancing customer satisfaction and product quality.
Solution Given: 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Storage Tray Problem
The bulletin, cited as N232428240 by Cadillac Society, is exclusive to the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq. Owners of affected vehicles have observed malfunctioning in the instrument panel center storage compartment, located beneath the HVAC control panel. Although the bulletin does not explicitly outline the problem, some owners have highlighted on social media and to Cadillac Society that the storage tray fails to close flush.
A dealership technician will replace the instrument panel storage tray free of charge. It would take less than thirty minutes. The Customer Satisfaction Program will run until March 31, 2026. It is currently unknown the exact number of Cadillac Lyriq units impacted by the storage tray problem.
On the other hand, owners of Cadillac Lyriqs statements on social media suggest that the problem is with the storage tray's inability to close flush, as mentioned on the GM website. The dealership provides a fix for this problem that entails swapping out the storage tray for a new part.
Although a new item might need to be obtained, the actual replacement procedure should just take a few minutes. Previously, GM addressed several issues related to the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq through various service bulletins.
For example, in March 2023, a fix was implemented to modify a faulty windshield molding retainer bracket to improve its fit. Additionally, the company tackled a more significant issue by releasing a service bulletin to rectify vibration during turns, potentially requiring the replacement of the intermediate shaft bolt.

2024 Cadillac Lyriq
Car and Driver reports that the Cadillac Lyriq has won accolades for its elegant exterior and interior design, quiet cabin, and large battery capacity. However, it has been noted that the vehicle prioritizes comfort over driving excitement, the software interface may require some adjustment, and the single-motor model lacks strong acceleration.
Overall, the verdict is that while it may not be a Blackwing, the Lyriq SUV is a visually appealing electric SUV with the character reminiscent of a DeVille. For the 2024 model year, Cadillac has streamlined the Lyriq lineup, introducing three distinct trims with increasing levels of equipment.
The base model, known as Tech, is equipped with the entry-level 340-hp single-motor electric powertrain. However, the estimated range for this model has decreased from 312 miles per charge to 308. The entry-level Luxury trim offers additional desirable features, while the top-spec Sport trim presents a more assertive exterior appearance, characterized by darkened chrome trim and a distinctive grille treatment.
Additionally, Car and Driver pointed out in their review that the Lyriq's beginning price only applies to the Tech trim with a single powertrain. Large 33.0-inch curved digital dashboard display, wireless smartphone charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 20-inch wheels, a fixed glass roof, and simulated leather interior are standard features of this specification level.
