Kia's design head, Karim Habib, referred to the hatchback as the K4 five-door during the release, hinting that it might become its official name, especially since its predecessor was named the Forte5.

It is anticipated that the hatchback will replicate the sedan's specifications, albeit with enhanced cargo capacity. The forthcoming sedan measures 185.4 inches in length, a size that exceeds the Forte by nearly three inches.

CarBuzz reported that during the unveiling of the K4, the automaker presented the hatchback as a vehicle targeted towards those leading dynamic urban lifestyles. While sharing the sedan's distinctive front end, the hatchback showcases a notably sportier rear design. Kia has successfully retained the beloved sporty contours seen on the sedan, ensuring a visually appealing transition to the hatchback model.

Enthusiasts can expect the same engines in both the sedan and hatchback variants, including a standard 2.0-liter engine delivering 147 horsepower, 132 lb-ft of torque, with a CVT transmission. For a more spirited driving experience, the turbocharged engine offering 190 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque is expected to cater to the hatchback's dynamic persona.
