Polestar's strategic vision sees the upcoming Polestar 7 poised to succeed the current entry-level Polestar 2. This new model represents a departure from the conventional naming convention, signaling a fresh approach towards innovation and design reinvention.
Polestar, Next in Line
According to Driving's report, positioned as the successor to the Polestar 2 compact crossover, the Polestar 7 embodies the brand's commitment to pushing boundaries and introducing a distinctively different electric vehicle offering. Polestar's CEO emphasized the creative freedom afforded by the unique naming strategy, hinting at an entirely reimagined vehicle set to redefine the brand's portfolio in the coming years.
Polestar's CEO not only highlighted the creative flexibility provided by the distinctive branding strategy, but he also made a hint about a recently redesigned car that will revolutionize the company's offering in the next years.
In a UK interview with Autocar, Polestar's CEO, Thomas Ingenlath, stressed that the business will continue to name its cars chronologically, starting with the next Polestar 7. Ingenlath explained that by giving the new model a unique number, it frees the design from previous conceptions or assumptions connected to its predecessor.
Polestar 2
According to Car and Driver, Polestar adds major enhancements to latest recent electric lineup for 2024 with the goal of increasing economy and performance. The flagship Polestar 2 has experienced a radical change in design, moving from a front-wheel-drive single motor to a streamlined rear-wheel-drive system. This modification, along with a significant increase in battery capacity and redesigned hardware components, has led to a significant gain in driving range.

With its excellent stated range of 320 miles, the base model has improved by 30 miles over its predecessor. In addition, the Polestar 2's dual-motor version now has a respectable range increase of 276 miles on a single charge-a significant boost of 16 miles over the model's previous generation. In addition to these developments, improved motor capabilities have resulted in an increase in horsepower across the board, giving Polestar devotees an even more thrilling driving experience.
More to Come from Polestar
According to EVs InsideEVs Global, the Polestar 7, like the Polestar 4, Zeekr 001, and Volvo EX30, is anticipated to be built on the Geely Group's Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), according to a recent study by EVs InsideEVs Global. Polestar is adopting a different strategy by concentrating on higher-end models, while the larger electric vehicle sector is moving towards smaller and more cheap EVs in order to boost profitability.
Ingenlath spoke with InsideEVs ahead of the upcoming New York International Auto Show about the Polestar 4, the company's aspirations for the electric vehicle industry, and how it hopes to overcome its current financial difficulties.
Ingenlath emphasized the value of adding more models to the company's lineup beyond the Polestar 2, emphasizing the possibility for development and income that comes with launching the Polestar 3 and 4 in the US market. He underlined that a fundamental component of Polestar's brand and future strategy is the company's dedication to the performance and premium exclusive markets.
