In recent months, Aptera remained relatively silent until a significant development emerged: the arrival of the first production body for the Aptera Solar EV. Sourced from Italy, where the CPC Group oversees manufacturing, this pivotal component has journeyed to Aptera's headquarters in San Diego.

Aptera Production Body Arrives in San Diego

The initial production body structure of Aptera Solar EV, as confirmed by co-CEO Chris Anthony, has completed its bonding process and is en route to Carlsbad, California, for the integration of essential solar EV components. Following its journey, the production-intent body has safely arrived at Aptera's headquarters, marking a significant milestone for the solar EV startup. Aptera has also released exciting images documenting this achievement.

According to a recent report by InsideEVs, Aptera Solar EV has maintained a relatively low profile in recent months. However, there has been significant progress as the company received its inaugural production body, sourced from Italy and manufactured by the CPC Group.

This development signifies a significant step forward for Aptera, bringing its distinctive three-wheeled solar electric vehicle closer to the production phase and closer to fulfilling its substantial reservation backlog, which exceeds 40,000 orders. Although initial customer deliveries were initially slated for 2024, the possibility of further delays due to financial constraints cannot be ruled out.
