Throughout its existence, the Peugeot 3008 has experienced numerous changes. The Peugeot e-3008, an all-electric variant, is the most recent addition to the lineup.

Peugeot e-3008 Review

As per WatchCar's report, the e-3008 is a purpose-built electric vehicle, featuring entirely new foundations. It offers various power options and comes with the flexibility of selecting from two different battery capacities.

WatchCar conducted a test drive of the Peugeot e-3008. They assessed the base model, equipped with a 73kWh battery powering a 207bhp motor that propels the front wheels. This version achieves a 0-62mph time of 8.8 seconds and offers a range of 326 miles on a full charge, surpassing the entry-level Tesla Model Y's range and approaching that of the Kia EV6 RWD.

While the e-3008 may not match the immediate acceleration of the Model Y, it delivers sufficient power when necessary, accompanied by a serene driving experience with only a subtle sound from the electric motor.

WatchCar also stated that within the e-3008's interior lies a technologically advanced interpretation of Peugeot's distinctive dashboard design, featuring an elevated instrument panel intended to be observed above the compact steering wheel rather than through it, a departure from conventional car layouts. The seating position is commendable, offering supportive high-positioned front seats and excellent forward visibility.

However, it noticed the rear view is hindered by the broad rear pillars. The Peugeot e-3008 also has an infotainment screen that is easily accessible from the driver's seat and ideally positioned for brief glances while driving, which minimizes the need to look away from the road for extended periods of time when using it. Sharp, colorful visuals are included on the display to improve clarity.

WatchCar highlights some drawbacks of the Peugeot e-3008, citing complex infotainment menus with multiple submenus and inconsistent screen responsiveness during their evaluation. They found that interactions sometimes led to rapid adjustments, while at other times, there was a delay.

Additionally, the absence of physical controls for adjusting air-conditioning settings is noted, requiring all adjustments to be made via the touchscreen. Furthermore, when using Android Auto or Apple CarPlay for phone mirroring, the temperature controls disappear, which could be inconvenient for users.

More About Peugeot e-3008

As per TopGear's report, they evaluated the version of the vehicle equipped with a 73kWh battery, providing a range of 326 miles WLTP with either front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). Interestingly, this is the smaller battery option, as the top-tier variant will feature a massive 98kWh battery, offering a WLTP range of 422 miles. This ample range is attributed not only to larger batteries but also to the vehicle's efficient operational performance.

TopGear also observed that the smaller battery pack offers sufficient range for typical family use, where restroom breaks for children would likely be needed before the vehicle requires recharging. On the other hand, business-oriented fleet customers, who are often pressed for time and eager to reach their destinations promptly-such as for important presentations at corporate conferences-may find greater reassurance in opting for the larger battery pack.
