Next month, Bentley is scheduled to reveal a revised version of the Continental GT, which will be devoid of the standard 8- or 12-cylinder gas engines. Rather, Bentley said on Thursday that the impending fourth version of this famous coupé will be the brand's most powerful vehicle ever, replacing the previous W-12 model with a plug-in hybrid V-8 engine.
Ultra Hybrid Powertrain for Bentley Continental GT
The most recent powertrain will give the two-door car a sizable amount of electric-only driving range. The upcoming fourth-generation Bentley will debut the Ultra Hybrid Performance powertrain. This one is a plug-in hybrid setup that combines an electric motor and V8 engine to generate exceptional power output.
According to CarBuzz, Bentley has revealed a preview of the future grand tourer, which will have a new plug-in hybrid V8 engine that generates an amazing 771 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, before it is officially unveiled in June.
Bentley stated that its new Ultra Performance Hybrid drivetrain will provide exceptional efficiency with a 50-mile all-electric range and CO2 emissions of less than 50g/km. Even while the Bentley Continental GT has long been popular for its comfort, the forthcoming model will greatly improve its sports qualities. The car will have four-wheel steering, an electronic limited-slip differential, and active all-wheel drive with torque vectoring.
Regarding the design, the front end of the new Continental will draw influence from the refreshed Bentayga and the Bacalar models, featuring a round headlight arrangement and a sleek horizontal element extending towards the wheels.

Apart from this, the upcoming Continental will maintain the graceful silhouette of its previous iteration. As expected, the interior will undergo styling enhancements and modernizations as well.
Bentley states that the upcoming Continental GT will represent "the most environmentally conscious" Bentley road car ever produced by the company. This implies a focus on utilizing more sustainable and potentially recycled materials.
Nonetheless, as shared by the report loyal Bentley enthusiasts can rest assured as the new GT will continue to boast the premium materials and luxurious attributes synonymous with vehicles crafted in Crewe.
According to The Robb Report, the carmaker revealed that the new Continental GT's electrified drivetrain will produce 771 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque during the vehicle's first preview.
Compared to the most powerful variant of the current generation Speed model, which is outfitted with a W-12 engine generating 650 horsepower and 665 lb-ft of torque, this indicates a notable power gain. Furthermore, it exceeds the power output of the specifically constructed Batur convertible and coupé models, which are propelled by W-12 engines that yield 738 lb-ft of torque and 740 horsepower.
Robb Report shared that in the 105 years of the company's existence, the Continental GT might emerge as its most powerful car.
Pricing for Bentley Continental GT
Per information from Autoblog, there is a possibility that the automaker will continue to provide a gasoline V8 option as an entry-level choice for the lineup, although no official confirmation has been given. The Continental GT accounts for around one-third of Bentley's total sales, with nearly 100,000 units sold during its presence in the market for over two decades.
Prices are expected to rise, maybe beginning at $250,000 and going as high as the mid-$300,000 range for the most expensive variants.
