Kia is creating a buzz in the electric vehicle market by providing significant discounts of up to $12,000 on its new 2024 EV6 and EV9 models, marking some of the largest discounts offered by the company so far.

Discount Up To $12,000 for EV6 and EV9

With over 210,000 units sold globally since its introduction in 2021, the EV6 now sports an improved battery for increased range, new functions, and a redesigned appearance. Kia's performance has been greatly impacted by the debut of the EV9, a larger electric SUV, which took place the previous year. As a result, Kia has had its highest-ever EV sales in the U.S.

As per Electrek, Kia is providing substantial discounts on specific 2024 EV6 and EV9 models to liquidate inventory and make room for upcoming releases. Electrek cited CarsDirect's assessment revealing that the 2024 EV6 presents combinable discounts of up to $12,800 on chosen variants, with a recent dealer communication confirming a $1,500 VIN-specific incentive for the model.

Kia recently launched the Select VIN Summer Sticker Sales promotion, featuring discounts ranging from $500 to $1,500. The 2024 EV6 is eligible for the highest savings. Customers purchasing can benefit from $7,500 in Customer Cash or a $500 loyalty discount.

Alternatively, they have the option of choosing 0% financing for 60 months instead of cash incentives. The 2024 EV9 qualifies for a $1,500 VIN discount, leading to potential total savings of up to $12,400 off the retail price. Buyers have the choice of $7,500 Customer Cash or 0% APR financing for 48 months.

Lease cash incentives of up to $10,400 are available for the EV9 Land model in some areas, such as California, Oregon, and Washington. The lease discounts for the different trim levels range from $9,000 to $11,900, with the potential to save up to $12,400 when the 2024 EV9 is paired with a $500 loyalty bonus.

According to HotCars, the EV9 from Kia presents a recognizable interior layout, seamless wireless phone integration, and competitive pricing within its category. The 2024 Kia EV9 GT-Line AWD stands out with its 99.8 kWh battery capacity, responsive handling, and convenient one-pedal driving experience.

The 2024 Kia EV9, with its competitive pricing and spacious three-row design, is a well-suited family vehicle that caters to the diverse lifestyles of potential buyers. The 2024 Kia EV9 GT-Line AWD, equipped with the long-range 99.8 kWh battery, was tested by the reviewer.

Following the inclusion of $1495 for destination and delivery fees, the MSRP for the tested model totaled $78,430. This vehicle initially gives off a somewhat revolutionary appearance but quickly blends into familiarity. One notable concern highlighted is a common feature shared with many electric vehicles: retractable door handles. While these handles contribute to aerodynamics and noise reduction, particularly beneficial for efficiency-focused EVs, the reviewer, residing in Ohio, where ice storms are more prevalent than snowstorms, expresses apprehension.

With past experiences of frost-coated cars necessitating chiseling to access, there's skepticism about how effective these retracting door handles will be during icy winters. Instances from other EV owners encountering challenges due to frozen retractable handles raise doubts about their practicality in cold weather.

The reviewer suggests incorporating a recessed design to allow for a more reliable grip in such conditions.
