About Ford Mustang GT

The Drive stated the Ford Mustang GTD is currently undergoing development and has not entered production yet, with plans for a limited production run. It also reported that Ford intends to launch a video series that provides insights into the design and evolution of the Grand Touring Daytona, beginning before the supercar's prominent unveiling at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

A key objective of the tour is to sustain the ongoing testing of the GTD, which commenced at venues like Sebring International Raceway and Virginia International Raceway. MotorTrend reported that Ford created the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse as a performance division within the seventh-generation Mustang. With ambitious racing objectives in mind, engineers utilized it as the foundation for the development of the Mustang GT3, set to compete in 2024.

The Mustang GTD, named after the GT Daytona class in the North American IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for GT3-spec cars, will make a powerful entrance with over 800 horsepower. Ford CEO Jim Farley affectionately refers to it as a "sophisticated technological powerhouse." The term "badass" certainly grabs our attention.
