The Dodge Challenger Demon 170 introduced some remarkable figures. Initially priced at $11,495 for the carbon fiber wheels, they now sell individually for close to $14,000 each.
Dodge Demon 170 Wheels Price Tag
As reported by CarBuzz, Dodge introduced the Challenger Demon 170 last year, offering customers the option of premium carbon fiber wheels for a steep $11,495. However, the price has since surged, with each wheel currently priced at almost $14,000. Interestingly, despite this, the online listing mistakenly labels them as aluminum wheels.
The significant cost is striking. Surprisingly, it exceeds over half of the initial Demon's MSRP of $96,666 when it was first released last year, before any additional features. The reason behind the high price of these wheels and the consumer demand for them raises questions.
CarBuzz had contacted Dodge for further insights on the wheels and plans to provide an update once a response is received. CarScoops provided additional information on the ongoing discussion about pricing. Initially priced at $11,495 for a set of four carbon fiber wheels, buyers now face a total cost of over $50,000 when purchasing from Dodge dealers and Mopar.
The Dodge Challenger Demon 170 showcased impressive statistics, boasting over 1,000 horsepower, sprinting the quarter-mile in under nine seconds, and subjecting drivers to more than 2 Gs of force. The notable dealer markups witnessed in recent months are also worth mentioning.
The cost may slightly fluctuate, potentially lower or higher, depending on the choice to explore different Dodge dealers. Moreover, there is an additional charge for the center cap. While the Demon 170 may be out of stock, the wheels can still be purchased separately.
Various Dodge parts vendors have been seen requesting close to or sometimes exceeding $13,000 for a single carbon fiber wheel. This information dates back to December 2023 when discussions on the Hellcat.org forum first surfaced.

CarScoops also mentioned that a person mentioned that the dealer's cost for one wheel is $9,645, a figure seemingly validated by a dealer on Facebook. Its editor-in-chief, John Halas, investigated further to confirm these details. Indeed, on Mopar's website, each wheel could reach up to $12,258 depending on the source. This price doesn't include a $50 core charge either.
More About the Wheels
As reported by Autoevolution, the benefits of carbon fiber wheels are evident. They contribute to weight reduction, saving around 30 pounds or 13.6 kilograms for the performance-oriented Challenger, although this might not seem significant.
These wheels enhance handling, improve braking and acceleration performance, and have an appealing appearance. While not entirely composed of carbon fiber, they also feature a forged aluminum center and titanium alloy hardware.
These are the wheels that enabled the Demon 170 to achieve a remarkable 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) time of just 1.66 seconds and cover the quarter-mile in 8.91 seconds. The latter achievement prompted the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) to send a violation notice, prohibiting the car from drag racing unless equipped with a roll cage and parachute.
Essentially, this indicates that the vehicle's performance exceeds what is considered safe for the track.
