Honda has made major improvements to their CRF motorcycles, including new suspension and a redesigned frame. Fox Raceway in Pala, California hosted the start of the 2024 Pro Motocross Championship/SuperMotocross World Championship on May 23. The entire Honda motocross lineup for 2025 was unveiled at the same time as this event.

Honda Brings 2025 CRF Lineup

The 2025 CRF450R and CRF250R are two of the most recent models that have received engine improvements to improve performance and throttle responsiveness. According to CycleNews, Honda's CRF450R and CRF250R motocross bikes have undergone a significant makeover for 2025, with Riders Jett and Hunter Lawrence of Team Honda HRC providing feedback during the development phase.

Engine upgrades provide powerful but controllable power, while chassis changes are intended to increase rigidity for a more comfortable ride without sacrificing accurate handling. Along with the premium CRF450RWE, these improvements are also applicable to the off-road-oriented CRF450RX and CRF250RX models.

In addition, Honda releases the CRF250RWE for 2025, a premium trim choice that draws inspiration from Jo Shimoda and Chance Hymas' factory machines. Colin Miller, Assistant Manager of Public Relations at American Honda, highlighted the close integration of the R&D processes between Honda's production machines and factory race bikes.

He noted that over the recent year and a half, Team Honda HRC's success in AMA Supercross and AMA Pro Motocross has been influential in the advancements of the production CRF Performance motocross bikes.

As reported by mcnews.com.au., Honda is making significant updates to the CRF250R, CRF450R, and CRF450RWE models in various aspects such as frame design, suspension, engine performance, and serviceability to maintain its leadership position in the category.

Additionally, the introduction of the new CRF250RWE model complements the existing CRF450RWE. The entire lineup of 2025 CRF models is expected to be available in Q4 of 2024 in Extreme Red, with ride-away pricing details still pending announcement.

Furthermore, following its victories in the 2023 AMA Pro Motocross 250 title and both divisions of the AMA Supercross 250 Championship led by Jett and Hunter Lawrence, the CRF250R is not content to rest on its past successes for the upcoming 2025 model year.

In 2025, the CRF250R continues to progress with enhancements to its chassis, suspension, and engine components. These improvements encompass a refreshed main frame and new subframe, updates to the forks and rear shock along with the linkage, a modified front caliper, an overhauled airbox, new ECU maps, and a revised muffler, among other updates.

Additional enhancements found in the 2025 CRF250 include a fork equipped with new springs kit-fork-derived Bending Control Valves, seals, and oil to maintain a uniform feel during compression, reducing rough feedback.

The linkage has been revamped into a single-piece design to boost stiffness, enhancing tracking ability and stability during performance. Moreover, a new leverage ratio has been incorporated to reduce pitching tendencies and enhance resistance to bottoming out.

The redesigned airbox offers a more direct airflow path, enhancing throttle response and top-end power delivery. Fresh ECU maps deliver a refined power delivery that maintains robust torque and power across all RPM ranges.
