Volkswagen and Wrapmate are introducing an online 3D customization tool for ID. Future ID.Buzz owners will have the opportunity to design their own custom graphics. According to Electrek's report, VW collaborates with Wrapmate, a Denver company that handles the purchase, design, printing, and installation of vehicle wraps nationwide.

The upcoming launch of the Wrapmate 3D configurator on June 2, in beta mode, will enable prospective ID. Buzz drivers to virtually create and customize wraps and decals online in real-time.

Commencing in autumn 2024, clients have the option to purchase the personalized wraps they designed online or via their nearby Volkswagen dealership. As shared in the report, Wrapmate will manufacture all custom graphics utilizing high-quality 3M vinyl for enhanced longevity and vivid color richness.

Moreover, Volkswagen plans to introduce exclusive special editions designed by artists and brand partners in collaboration with the Wrapmate initiative on a regular basis. The initial release features the "Love the Earth" artwork created by visual artist Dr. Bob Hieronimus.

Crafted Selection, Design

Distinguished as "Love the Earth" by Bob Hieronimus, the design symbolizes VW's transition to electric vehicles and more eco-friendly approaches. Featuring the phrase "Love the Earth" in 25 different languages, the wrap aims to promote global harmony, as stated by VW.

Individuals will have the opportunity to personalize their wraps using Wrapmate's 3D configurator launching in beta mode on June 2. Subsequently, those who finalize their design can place orders starting fall 2024 through Wrapmate's online platform or at select Volkswagen dealerships; pricing details are yet to be disclosed.

The ID. Buzz is set to debut later this year as a 2025 model.

More About ID.Buzz

As described by MotorTrend, the three-row ID. Buzz is almost 10 inches lengthier than the two-row variant, primarily due to a 9.8-inch extension in wheelbase. Measuring 192.4 inches in length and 77.9 inches in width, the larger Buzz aligns closely in size with a Volkswagen Atlas SUV.

The report further stated that in the U.S. market, customers have a selection of nine paint color options, featuring vibrant shades such as red, orange, yellow, green, and two blues, along with two-tone white-over designs.

The interior palette mirrors this vibrancy, offering three upholstery color choices and wood trim selections. It's worth noting that the specific door panel trim displayed on the blue van will not be part of the available combinations in the United States.
