Kalmar Automotive 7-97 C1 Lands in California

Kalmar Automotive's initial shipment of the Kalmar 7-97 C1 has reached the United States, where it is currently on display at Canepa in California. This model, known as the 'C1' in honor of its partnership with Canepa, is officially up for sale.

Each Kalmar Automotive 7-97 model honors the iconic Porsche 911 ST from the 1970s. As reported by CarBuzz, the 7-97 'C1', derived from the 993-generation 911 and denoted by the 'C' for Canepa, boasts a 4.0-liter engine generating 396 horsepower and 314 lb-ft of torque.

Enhanced by drive-by-wire individual throttle bodies, a new exhaust system, dual oil coolers, and a crankshaft sourced from a 997 GT3, this model also features a custom air filtration system and dual oil coolers. While specific performance figures remain undisclosed, the 7-97 C1 promises impressive acceleration capabilities.

With all-wheel drive and a weight of approximately 2,675 lbs, this variant offers agility, while rear-wheel drive versions tip the scales at a mere 2,500 lbs, supplemented by a lightweight lithium battery by Kalmar.

Comfort, Interior and Others

In addition to the technical specifications, Kalmar introduces adaptive active suspension, a multi-link rear axle, a six-speed gearbox, an ultra-lightweight lithium battery, and lightweight three-piece split rims.

Serving as the exclusive distributor in North America, Canepa plays a pivotal role in introducing these remarkable vehicles to collectors and aficionados. The Kalmar 7-97 C1 is currently showcased at Canepa's Scotts Valley headquarters in California, offering interested individuals the opportunity to view this vehicle by appointment.

Kalmar Automotive revealed one option for this latest vehicle. For enthusiasts looking to elevate performance, optional features include a traction control system with Sport mode for enhanced driving dynamics, a lightweight ceramic braking system, and the option of a front axle lift system, providing improved drivability and dynamic advantages during road journeys.

The interior of the 7-97 'C1' boasts a luxurious full leather finish complemented by comfortable Recaro sports seats and the option for twin airbags, all seamlessly integrated with the classic F-model dashboard.

Standard modern conveniences include remote central locking, a discreet Bluetooth audio system, and rain-sensing wipers for enhanced convenience. Noteworthy is the specially designed key for KALMAR Automotive, featuring integrated buttons for opening and closing the front luggage compartment and rear deck lid, mirroring the electronic release functionality seen in the latest Porsche 911 models.

As per the report by CarBuzz, the 7-97 C1 is set to showcase Kalmar Automotive's capabilities to potential customers. This vehicle will be exhibited at Canepa's headquarters, where the restomod expert anticipates the arrival of additional 7-97 models from Europe in the near future.

For those inclined towards a more rugged driving experience, Kalmar offers the option to convert a 996 generation 911 into an affordable Dakar-inspired variant, featuring heightened ride height and a power output potentially reaching up to 500 horsepower.
