Following the revelation of key specifications, Fang Cheng Bao has officially unveiled images of its newest model, the Bao 3. There are indications that this fresh release might adopt a plug-in hybrid powertrain akin to the one utilized in the larger Bao 5 model.

According to a report from CarScoops, the front facade of the latest SUV exudes a robust and assertive appearance, featuring sizable headlights complemented by dual slim LED daytime running lights placed above them. Observers can easily spot the distinctive flared wheel arches on the Bao 3, enhancing its road presence significantly.

The prototypes showcased, cloaked in detailed camouflage patterns, exhibit roof rails and spare wheel mounts as additional features. At the rear, the taillights boast a minimalist design with LED strips, reminiscent of the styling seen on contemporary Genesis models.

According to details shared by Electrek, the recently unveiled Fang Cheng Bao represents the commercial release of the "Star Wars" inspired Super 3 concept presented back in April. BYD has articulated that this fresh brand will provide a diverse lineup of distinctive and high-performance New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), spanning from off-road capabilities to sporty designs.

The inaugural entry from this brand, the Bao 5, made its debut in the automotive market last November. In a significant announcement made earlier this year, BYD introduced a trio of new models to its portfolio: the flagship Bao 8 SUV, the sleek Super 9 sports car, and Super 3 (Bao 3) SUV variant.

Electrek cited a report by CarNewsChina, the anticipated launch of the Bao 3 is scheduled for later this year, with an estimated initial price point of around $30,300 or equivalent to 220,000 yuan.

Positioned below the Bao 5 PHEV, which commences at $40,000, approximately 289,800 yuan in the Chinese market, the Bao 3 is poised to offer an attractive option for electric vehicle enthusiasts.

Equipped with an AWD system that combines a 110 kW front electric motor and a 200 kW rear electric motor, the Bao 3 will rely on batteries sourced from BYD's FinDreams division.

Reported by Benzinga, the latest catalog released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has been made available for public feedback regarding sales approval, highlighting the Bao 3 and its essential specifications.

Furthermore, Benzinga referenced a report by CnEV Post, indicating that the model's inclusion in the catalog signifies the conclusive regulatory phase required for the model to be legally sold in China.

In a report by CarNewsChina.com, it was disclosed that the Bao 3, serving as the introductory offering from Fang Cheng Bao and the brand's third vehicle in its lineup, is targeted as a rugged medium-sized SUV tailored for off-road adventures. A glimpse at the unveiled images suggests that the Bao 3 could potentially come in three distinct exterior color options: red, blue, and yellow, catering to varying preferences of potential customers.

Moreover, an interactive screen is incorporated to showcase the charging status of the vehicle, offering customizable display content for enhanced user experience. On the rear end, two distinct styles are presented: one featuring a full-sized spare tire and the other showcasing an external small container.

Although specifics regarding the interior features and powertrain remain undisclosed currently, BYD has confirmed that the Bao 3 is set to deliver a peak power output of 310 kW, boasting dual motors and electric four-wheel drive capabilities.
