Biden and Trump faced each other Thursday for the First Presidential Debate. The debate commences road to the 2024 elections of one of the world's superpower nations. Biden and Trump tried to outwit and criticize each other for certain policies and national issues. However, there's one topic it misses - well, as far as car enthusiasts and even environmentalists are concerned about - the EVs.

Presidential Debate Misses EVs on Climate Change Topic

Almost all eyes were tuned to the Thursday First Presidential Debate on CNN. The competition warms up as this historic event happens as a former and current president go head-to-head, presenting themselves to voters and trying to put the other in a bad light.

However, the First Presidential Debate missed EVs on climate change. Everyone knows Biden for his strong and developing policies promoting EVs, some of which as others would say are putting pressure on Chinese EVs. The Detroit Free Press noted that Biden's and Trump's stances on EVs were missing from Thursday night's debate.

Biden has been very vocal on his initiatives promoting EVs due to lesser carbon emissions than gas-powered vehicles. His administration works toward electrification in the automotive industry. One of which is the building of charging stations for powering EVs.

But his opponent Trump was very vocal as well and a critic of Biden's EV policies and stance. However, knowledgeable ones about these facts must already notice the absence of this topic on Thursday. The Detroit Free Press also shared a noteworthy instance during the debate. When moderators inquired about plans for climate change, Trump confidently mentioned that his advisors had praised his environmental metrics as the best they had ever seen before the debate. In response, Biden strongly criticized this claim and highlighted the climate-focused laws he had successfully enacted during his administration.

Trump is not a fan of Biden's EV policies. The former president warned that an economic "bloodbath" would bring death to the U.S. automotive industry if Biden pushes for electrification.

A report from NBC News last April highlighted Trump's warning regarding electrification in the car industry. Trump stated the potential impacts of certain policies on the U.S. economy, warning of a scenario he described as a "bloodbath" and claiming that these measures could severely harm the auto industry while leading to significant job losses.

During an event in Grand Rapids, Michigan, focused on immigration issues, Trump criticized Biden's incentives for electric vehicles, labeling them as one of the most ill-advised decisions he has encountered and suggesting that they would ultimately benefit foreign auto manufacturers, particularly those based in China and Mexico.

Reflecting on the country's abundant reserves of oil and gas, Trump lamented the perceived diversion from this strength and vowed to promptly reverse the policies that, in his view, disadvantage the nation's energy resources.

Notes, Reactions About Biden vs Trump Debate

Observations arise after The First Presidential. These observations and reactions stem both from the public and news bodies. AZ Central highlighted several notes about the recent debate.

Following President Joe Biden's debate performance on Thursday, concerns arose among his supporters and Democrats as he faced difficulties during the event.

It was noted that Biden's voice was hoarse, and he encountered challenges with articulation, including stumbling over words and figures. This lead to suggestions from some quarters that he should consider stepping aside to allow another Democrat to take his place.

At times, Biden appeared challenging to understand, and there was an instance where he seemed to lose track of his thoughts, culminating in a perplexing statement regarding Medicare.

Meanwhile CBS News noted some points or statements from the debate, identifying them as true or false. One of which was Trump's statement telling everyone that the claim that "they had the greatest economy in the history of their country" has been debunked as false.
