Stellantis has something in store for its prospective BEV model buyers. The automaker launched a strategy to attract buyers who want to purchase a new EV. Stellantis is offering a home charger or charge credits when one buys a new BEV model. These will be made possible through its Free2Move program.

Free2Move Charge Programs

Stellantis uses its charging ecosystem, Free2Move to boost sales. As it continues to bring additional brand-new and all-electric vehicles in 2024, Stellantis announced the debut of its Free2Move Charge website and Free2Move Charge app. These will be available in the U.S. and Canada. According to Electrek, as an increasing number of electric vehicles are being introduced by Stellantis-owned brands like Fiat, Jeep, and soon Dodge, prospective customers can now enjoy a fresh incentive.

This offer allows future Stellantis buyers to select between a free home charger or credits for public charging networks. Stellantis highlights that American consumers contemplating a BEV purchase from its lineup now have the choice of a complimentary charger or Free2Move credits.

Electrek noted that to further assist potential buyers, Stellantis emphasizes the use of its Free2move Charge platform, which serves as a resourceful tool guiding individuals through the EV purchase journey while providing valuable insights on available models and charging solutions.

Charge Home Package

Stellantis introduces the Charge Home Package for BEV owners, providing a Level 2 unit valued at approximately $600. Through the Free2Move website, buyers can access an installation portal to plan charger placement, estimate costs, and arrange installation with partner Qmerit. Alternatively, customers without home charging capability can opt for $600 in credits via the Free2move Charge app for use at public DC and Level 2 charging stations nationwide.

The Detroit Press highlighted Stellantis' selected installation partner, Qmerit, based in Irvine, California. According to data shared by Qmerit, the average national installation cost ranges between $1,700 and $1,800. Upon receiving the necessary details and images from buyers, Qmerit promises a no-obligation estimate, stressing that final costs are tailored to the specific requirements of each EV owner.

In a statement, Mathilde Lheureux, the head of Stellantis' energy and charge business unit, emphasized the importance of providing clear charging options for customers during or before their electric vehicle purchase in the US. Stellantis confirmed that its EVs and plug-in electric hybrid models are currently outfitted with the J1772 charging port and will transition to the SAE J3400 charging connector, utilized by Tesla, beginning with specific EV models set to debut in the 2026 model year.

A number of new all-electric vehicles, including the 2024 Fiat 500e, 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona, 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S, 2025 Jeep Recon, and 2025 Ram 1500 REV, are expected to be released by Stellantis in the US market, according to Seeking Alpha. With the Fiat 500e leading the way and the Jeep Wagoneer S and Dodge Charger Dayton after it, Stellantis Chief Operating Officer Carlos Zarlenga stressed that these electric vehicles will preserve the brand's cherished DNA while embracing electrification and cutting-edge technology.
