Chinese EV maker Zeekr has produced a solution to counter range anxiety in its autos.
According to Automotive News Europe, Zeekr finally took off the veil on a battery that can charge in just 10 minutes. The company said in a statement Tuesday that its improved lithium iron phosphate battery can charge from 10 to 80% in 10 and 1/2 minutes.
The quick charge can only occur when connected to the automaker's V3 ultra-fast charging station. This could help combat range anxiety, which drivers experience when fearing for the battery life of their vehicles and the potential occurrences of power drain before reaching their destination.

Range anxiety is common for electric vehicle owners, leading some to approach long queues at charging stations. With the help of Zeekr's innovative quick-charge battery, it might act as a countermeasure for the range predicament.
Amid the increasing wave of EV purchases and arms race for battery makers for more powerful battery cells, plug-in hybrids have also gained recognition among consumers. The Zeekr 007 sedan will include the upgraded batteries and deliveries are scheduled to start next week.
Zeekr also stated that the temperature conditions where batteries degrade rapidly would be around 10 Celsius, and even in that harsh state, the improved batteries would still be able to charge to 80% in just 30 minutes.

Zeekr is one of the automakers owned by Geely, which also handles Volvo, Polestar, Lynk & Co, Lotus Cars, and London EV Company. The company has successfully delivered over 300,000 vehicles since its introduction in October 2021.
Apart from China, it aims to sell its products and expand the automotive sector in Europe, Latin America and different parts of Asia.
Meanwhile, The Driven reported that Zeekr has introduced its X electric SUV with a starting price of $60,000 for its base trim. However, the cost would be around $70,00 for its dual motor and all-wheel drive counterparts.
