Nissan dropped the SR VC-Turbo from its 2025 Nissan Altima and introduced a new package for the vehicle.
The automaker has discarded the SR VC-Turbo trim from the 2024 Altima as it now houses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, as per Car and Driver. The 2.5-liter engine produces 188 horsepower and 180 torque.
Each unit in the 2025 Altima lineup has a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The SR also comes with paddle shifters.
A spokesperson from Nissan was asked for a statement regarding the dismissal of the 2.0-liter turbo four option. The official responded that Nissan is consistently adapting powertrain choices in its lineup to meet customer needs.
The spokesman added that Nissan's 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine will aim to offer a conducive balance of fuel economy and performance. It would also look forward to the improvement of the all-wheel drive compatibility that Altima consumers are growing fond of.

Nissan has also introduced a Special Edition package for the 2025 Altima's SV trim, which boasts improvements in its technological features to match the upper trims.
Upgrading its base exterior, the SV would be polished with glossy black 17-inch wheels, distinctive kick plates and a center console with carbon fiber. The package would also place a rear spoiler for the vehicle.
For its interior, the SV trim would have a new Special Edition package that costs $1,090, and it would feature the standard 12.3-inch infotainment system, similar to the SL and SR variants. The package would also include a sunroof, a wireless charging pad and a climate control system.
The base S model for the 2025 Altima costs $28,140. Buyers would have to spend a bit more on its SV trim, which has a price of $28,570. It would also incorporate upgraded tech features inside the cabin.
However, its AWD-fitted SL version has a price of $35,970. The cost could also be slightly lessened when opting for the SL variant, which comes in at $34,470 since it only features a front-wheel drive.
