Ford has recalled thousands of 2024 Mustangs due to a defect.
According to Car and Driver, Ford has issued the recall on a total of 4,595 2024 models because of loose rear suspension knuckles. The issue relays how flaws in its casting can lead to weak foundations and unexpected fissures.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) submitted records stating that a fractured suspension knuckle may dwindle the vehicle's lateral stiffness and cause a toe-in or toe-out of the rear tire when accelerating or braking. Toe shift impairments and steering difficulties can also result in a crash.

It also stated that debris might have entered the suspension during production and is most likely caused by an "improperly fitted debris filter."
Ford's chronology report indicated that the automaker is aware of two related reports of cars having damaged rear suspension knuckles. No injuries related to the suspension defect have been reported to the company.

As a preventive measure, the recall will raise the attention of Mustang owners this month and dealers have now started notifying drivers. For affected units, Ford will look closely at the parts and replace them without a fee.
Furthermore, NHTSA stated that owners would receive a reimbursement from Ford if they had independently paid the repairs themselves.

Meanwhile, Ford recently terminated plans for its electric SUVs. Jim Farley, Ford CEO, realized that the project may backfire since these SUVs are powered by expensive batteries, despite being profitable due to having a combustion engine.
Ford would now focus on its smaller and low-priced vehicles. Apart from these variants, the automaker is looking into hybrids with extended range. Ford reportedly plans to produce hybrid three-row SUVs with propulsion options.
