Goodyear has expanded its lineup with the new Assurance WeatherReady 2 tires.

Per Modern Time Dealer, Goodyear unveiled the new set of tires during a ride-and-drive event in Akron, Ohio. The launch was made on Aug. 20, but the company gave customers the chance to preorder the tires before its release date.

Assurance WeatherReady 2 is reportedly capable of enduring all weather conditions with a 60,000-mile tread life warranty.

The tires are also equipped with Goodyear's AquaTred Technology, which has an upgraded tread pattern made to expel unwanted water and slush. 

One of the tire's treads includes evolving traction grooves, as well as TredLock tech that interlocks the sipes and maintains good tire grip. It also features the company's Wear Gauge for tread depth monitoring. 

Anne Johnson, director of Category Strategy and Planning for Good Year, noted that the tires redefine the expectations drivers have from all-weather tires through its technology.

Johnson also said that the tires reflect Goodyear's devotion to innovating products and their quality. The tires are 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMS)-certified and will originally arrive in 58 sizes that range from 16 to 22-inch rims.

Goodyear shared that the manufacturer plans to produce 20 additional sizes by the end of 2025's first quarter. Company officials also revealed that the Assurance WeatherReady 2 tires would replace most of the sizes from the Assurance WeatherReady releases.

The Assurance WeatherReady 2 tires will be compatible with several vehicles, including the Kia Telluride, GMC Acadia, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mercedes GLE and Honda CR-V.

Apart from the Assurance WeatherReady 2 tires, Goodyear introduced ElectricDrive2 at the 2024 Consumer Electronic Show. The tires are expected to reach the market in May 2024.
