Tesla Model Y Revamp Release Date Leaked? What We Know So Far

A new update regarding Tesla's Model Y has been made, fueling speculations about its release.

Electrek recently reported that a new refresh would be rolling out in the first quarter of 2025. Tesla is also reportedly planning to offer two modified Model Y variants in 2025, and based on information about its highly anticipated lineup, the 5-seat Model Y Juniper is expected to be released in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that Tesla aims to release a 7-seat version of the vehicle in the fourth quarter of next year. Tesla plans to produce the 7-seat Model Y at the Gigafactory in Shanghai. 

In the United States, Tesla has availed the Model Y's three-row seven-seater version. However, the variant is expected to be the upgraded version of the vehicle's configuration in the Asian and European automotive markets.

Last month, Tesla trended among car enthusiasts due to rumors of its Model Y Juniper project. As the top-selling vehicle in the U.S., many have raised speculations about its release, alongside its upgraded performance and aesthetics.

It first made its presence known among netizens in 2019, and this 2024, a Reddit thread shared a photo showing what appears to be the rumored Model Y Juniper, which was embedded with a rear light bar.

Unfortunately, Tesla CEO Elon Musk denied the rumors in June, saying that there would be no possible revision for the vehicle this year. The CEO followed up that the automaker will continue to improve its lineup.

A consumer insights analyst from Edmunds stated that Tesla has established itself as a "legacy automaker." The EV maker reportedly understands that customers will be interested if a fresh lineup can be maintained.
