Audi Honors Italian Executive Who Passed Away In Unfortunate Mountain Accident

Audi has honored one of its executives, who passed away in a tragic accident.
The automaker's officials conveyed their sympathies and condolences for the late Fabrizio Longo, Audi's managing director for Italy, Reuters reported Tuesday.
According to the outlet, the director passed away when he fell 10,000 feet (3,050 meters) in the north-eastern region of Trentino during an excursion. Longo, aged 62, was also known as an experienced mountain climber.

A spokesman shared their thoughts on the director's passing, saying that Longo was a person of integrity, culture, capability and sensitivity. The spokesman added that the late exec had been helming the Audi brand in Italy since 2013, stressing the great leadership the exec had demonstrated for 11 years.
Longo was a veteran in the automotive sector. The late director also had major roles at Fiat and Lancia, before joining Audi. Apart from certain officials from Audi, other auto industry executives have also paid tribute to Longo.

Among them was Stephan Winkelmann, the CEO of Lamborghini. On Linkedin, Winkelmann stated, "We will miss you Fabrizio. Goodbye, my friend."
Meanwhile, Luca de Meo, the CEO of Renault, shared that Longo was a man worth calling his friend, and he experienced "infinite sadness" upon learning of his passing. De Meo added, "You left us while you were chasing your great passion."

In other news, Audi has released upgrades for its Q5 model. The new Q5 is one of the automaker's 20 new launches in 2024 and 2025. The new variant emphasizes more on its "single frame" grille exterior, giving it a wider look.
The interior is also equipped with a lounge-like look, offering a comfortable vibe for drivers and passengers. Aside from its design, the vehicle boasts function and convenience with its storage, digital cockpit and 14.5-inch screen display.
