Ford has filed a new patent for in-vehicle advertisements.

Motor1 learned Tuesday that Ford has come up with a new patent designed to enhance car owners' experience while inside the automaker's vehicles. The patent is a system designed to use the vehicle's destination, route, and travel history to analyze the type of ads to display.

The system is also activated even when driving down the road, scanning every ad and thus, delivering it to the vehicle's display screen.

The interaction of users with the ads would also be analyzed by Ford. This includes monitoring conversations inside the cabin and helping the vehicle "comprehend" the owner's tolerance for the advertisements.

When passengers are in the middle of conversing, the system is able to listen to their dialogue, as well as reduce the number of ads when passengers aren't talking to each other. Apart from the ad reduction, it can also play an alternative audio ad.

Small details such as keywords or phrases can also help the system determine the driver's intended destination.

Meanwhile, Ford recalled thousands of vehicles due to engine valve problems last month. The automaker reportedly recalled 90,736 units, while also calling the attention of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The recall affected only 2021-2022 releases, including the Bronco, F-150, Edge, Explorer, Lincoln Nautilus and Aviator. These vehicles were equipped with a 2.7-liter or 3.0-liter Nano EcoBoost engine.

The NHTSA stated that unwanted fractures can occur while driving due to failures in the engine and loss of drive power. A similar matter was also investigated in January 2022, when 22 incidents showed fractures on the engine intake valves, before falling to the combustion chamber and causing damage.

The automaker stated that these defects were due to valves that overran designed hardness specifications, causing fragility and increased risks of fractures.
