Uber and Waymo have expanded their ride-hailing services in other parts of the globe.

Reuters learned Saturday that Uber Technologies expanded its partnership with Alphabet's subsidiary Waymo to offer hailing services in Austin, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia, by 2025.

The endeavor was subsequently followed by an increase in shares, as Uber's shares gained 5% and Alphabet's 2%. The reveal arrived after safety regulators had closely monitored self-driving firms for multiple crash incidents and issues concerning vehicle technology.

Uber Technologies will release a fleet of autonomous, electric Jaguar I-PACE cars, which will eventually develop its vehicle count through time.

The company's initial partnership was announced in 2023, giving Waymo the chance to release driverless cars in Phoenix, Arizona. Uber has also collaborated with General Motors' Cruise team to release self-driving cars on its platform by 2025.

Apart from ride-hailing services, Aurora raised $483 million in August to increase its capital for self-driving trucks by the end of 2024. The raise, which paves a smooth financial path until 2026, will help establish Aurora Innovation as a financially stable company in 2028.
