Ford is offering home EV chargers for free as part of its new program "Ford Power Promise."
The carmaker will cover the cost of a Level 2 home charger and its installation for F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E owners, Automotive News reported Monday.
The Ford Charge Station Pro bidirectional charger, which has a retail price of $1,310, would be covered free of charge starting Oct. 1. The company would also offer support via text to owners of the vehicles, giving roadside assistance in the case of battery drains or any other unfortunate circumstances during travels.

Senior Director Becca Anderson stated that Ford Power Promise incorporates various offerings and would support the carmaker's customers in the United States. The project was reportedly developed for the past two years.
Ford will only cover the chargers in 2024's fourth quarter. However, Anderson assured that the company's live support and program benefits would be maintained. If customers use Ford's recommended installer, Qmerit, the company will cover costs for up to 60 amps and 80 feet of wiring.
