Not The Typical Car

As reported in Fox News, the Switchblade flying sports car, developed by Samson Sky, is an experimental aircraft with features that include seating for two occupants, a maximum airspeed of 200 mph, and a driving speed of 125+ mph. It boasts a flying range of 450 miles and is capable of using 91 octane automobile fuel, achieving 33 miles per gallon as a land-based vehicle. This innovative vehicle combines the capabilities of a car and an aircraft, offering a unique and versatile mode of transportation

GB New's shared that in a recent interview on FOX Business' "Varney & Co.," Sam Bousfield, the CEO of Samson Sky, discussed the launch of the Switchblade flying sports car, developed by Samson Sky. The vehicle, which is classified as a flying car, requires specific qualifications to operate. To fly the Switchblade, individuals must hold a private pilot's license, while for driving it on the road, a driver's or motorcycle license is necessary.

First Flight - Success

During its maiden flight test, the Switchblade soared 500 feet above Grant County Airport in Washington and remained airborne for approximately six minutes. Sam Bousfield, who has been with Samson Sky since 2008, mentioned that the initial funding for the project came from "friends and family," followed by debt financing in the early stages. The company has since secured backing through equity finance.

Sam Bousfield expressed his enthusiasm for the vehicle. The task of flying for the first time was carried out by Robert Moehle. The news also shared Bousfield thoughts about owning the Switchblade.

According to him this vehicle allows for both driving and flying, providing potential cost savings in flight training. Moreover, he highlighted the convenience of having 5,000 airports in the US, which makes it easier to use the Switchblade for air travel compared to the infrastructure requirements of vertical takeoff vehicles.

Everyone must hold this excitement. Samson Sky's switchable car will not be available in the market soon. They need to wait for another two years before its commercial release. Currently, there are 2,300 reservations from individuals across all 50 states in the United States and 57 different countries.

Starting Price of Switchblade Flying Sports Car

The Switchblade's base price is $170,000 (£135,500), and there's a higher-tier option priced at £195,000 (£155,500) that includes additional equipment. Additionally, the brand offers a special edition starting at $330,000 (£263,000). Another unique offer is the "one-of-one" edition with a price tag of $770,000 (£613,690).

One must also take note that this price could get higher. Since it's a flying a car a safety is added - a parachute. This addition is only one of the safety features it posses.
