The Audi TT, a beloved nameplate that has spanned three generations and 25 years, has reached the end of its remarkable journey as the final example rolled off the production line in Hungary. This significant milestone marks the conclusion of a quarter-century career that has seen the Audi TT evolve and captivate enthusiasts around the world.
End of an Era for Audi TT
With a total of 662,762 units produced, this iconic sports car has left an indelible mark on automotive history. This legendary sports automobile has shaped automotive history with 662,762 units built. According to Cars.co.za, Audi's German Instagram account confirmed the TT's discontinuation by posting photos of the last model.
The Audi TT's production covered 3 generations. Over the initial 10 months of 2023, Audi SA recorded 71 TT units sold, a decrease from the 106 units sold throughout 2022. The highest sales month in 2023 so far was January, with 11 units sold. Despite the introduction of the TT Final Edition earlier in the year, Audi's local division in South Africa has confirmed that this run-out model won't be available in the region. However, there remains an opportunity to acquire one of the last TT units allocated to South Africa.
According to Carscoop, to mark this significant event, a third-generation TTS Coupe adorned with floral decorations was joined by the original TT Coupe and TT Roadster concepts from 1995, along with two second-generation models. The lettering displayed on the windshield indicates that the Györ factory in Hungary has produced a total of 662,762 Audi TT units, spanning from February 18, 1998, to November 10, 2023.

The Last Batch
Carscoops, also gave a glimpse of how this last Audi TT looks like. The Final Audi TT, which marked the end of its production line, boasts a stylish finish in Chronos Gray Metallic with Dark Chrome matt accents. While the specific profile isn't visible, it appears to be a bronze selection specification, typically equipped with 20-inch wheels in matt bronze or black, complemented by matching four-ring graphics.
Under the hood, the TTS packs a punch with a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine delivering 315 hp (235 kW / 320 PS), making it the second most potent variant in the MQB-based third-generation TT lineup, just behind the RS performance flagship, equipped with a 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder engine producing 394 hp (294 kW / 400 PS).
Even though production has ceased, the TT is still available for purchase while remaining stock lasts. A quick search on Audi's official website in Germany reveals that there are currently 540 units available in the country, with prices ranging from €45,444 to €104,977 ($49,620 to $114,624), depending on the version and equipment.
But there is one good news, despite this last Final Audi TT rolled off the production line. Car Expert reported,
While the production of the beloved Audi TT has recently concluded, the company's regional branch is currently introducing a Final Edition model to honor the car's 25-year legacy.
Audi had previously announced a 25th-anniversary model for Australia without revealing any details. Recently, the TT 45 TFSI quattro Final Edition has quietly surfaced on the company's stock locator tool.
