Loyalty: Customers Preference
When talking about cars, these brands are the top most trusted and preferred by costumers. Despite the changes in the car industry including shifting to electronic vehicles and hybrids, these brands still get a lot of patronage this 2023.
As shared on Money Talks, Tyson Jominy, J.D. Power's VP of data and analytics, noted that when vehicles meet owner expectations, including excellent build quality, it often leads to consumer brand loyalty. To gauge brand loyalty, J.D. Power checked data from the Power Information Network and ranked brands based on how often owners stayed loyal by choosing the same brand for their next vehicle.
For the second year in a row, Toyota, Ford, and Porsche remained at the top of their respective categories.
1. Mass Market Car
In the category of Mass Market Car Toyota and Honda lead the league. Toyota maintains its dominance by securing the top spot for the second consecutive year, boasting an impressive owner loyalty rate of 60.0%. As reported in The Truth About Cars, Honda closely follows in second place with a loyalty rate of 55.0%, reflecting the intense competition for brand loyalty in this segment.
2. Mass Market SUV
Subaru garnered 61.1 % consumer brand loyalty. While following second is Toyota at 60.5 %. Toyota seating at the top of Mass Market Car category, implies its power as a great competitor.
3. Truck Segment
Ford maintains its strong hold on the fiercely competitive truck segment, securing the top position for the second year in a row with an outstanding owner loyalty rate of 64.6%. This brand loyalty shows Ford truck owners' trust and contentment. Toyota is a close second in the segment with an impressive owner loyalty rate of 60.4%.
4. Premium Car Segment
In the premium car segment, Porsche leads with a 56.8% owner loyalty rate, followed by Mercedes-Benz at 50.5%. In the premium SUV category, Volvo leads with a 56.5% owner loyalty rate, with BMW in second place at 56.1%. Premium brand owners highly value the exceptional experiences these brands offer.
These brands had proven their reliability through the years. Thus, making consumers choose them over and over again when it comes to purchasing their new unit.
