Hyundai is preparing to launch the highly-anticipated N Vision 74 concept into production, a move that has captured the attention of automotive enthusiasts worldwide. This cutting-edge hybrid sports car, blending hydrogen and battery-electric technology, first wowed audiences in July 2022 and has since maintained a firm grip on the collective imagination.
Beginning for N Vision 74 Limited Edition
Hyundai is gearing up for a limited production run of the N Vision 74 in 2026. However, the catch is that only a select number, a mere 100 units, will roll off the production line, with Hyundai reserving thirty of these exclusives for racing purposes.
CarBuzz gives readers and car enthusiats more information about Hyundai's dedication to making the N Vision 74 a reality. A new patent application for hydrogen fuel cell technology was sent to the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) by the company. The idea behind this claim is to create a "vehicle rear body structure" with hydrogen storage tanks arranged in a parallel pattern behind the cabin.
While the patent's visual references might evoke thoughts of a Kia Stinger, the hydrogen tank configuration is strikingly reminiscent of what we've seen in the N Vision 74 concept. According to reports, the patent was published in December 14,2023. Even though Hyundai initially positioned the N Vision 74 as a testing ground for groundbreaking technologies, the overwhelming demand from the public and persistent hints from executives have fueled the possibility of its production.
Notably, the absence of 'Vision' in the N 74 trademark further fuels speculation that Hyundai is wholeheartedly committed to making the N Vision 74 a reality.
Vision to Reality, Hyundai N74
Hyundai asserts that the Hyundai N Vision 74 concept generates 671 horsepower through a combination of electric motors and a relatively compact high-voltage battery. This hydrogen sports car has an amazing range of up to 400 miles thanks to a hydrogen fuel cell range extender that is built right in. While specific performance statistics remain scarce, it is known that the N Vision 74 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds.
A report from Gizmodo about the upcoming production model says that it will have a lot more power, maybe even 800 horsepower, and try to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds. Hyundai has adjusted its range projections for the production units, now aiming for a range of 400-480 kilometers.
As for the pricing and availability of the N Vision 74, the details remain undisclosed at this time. However, it is prudent to anticipate a substantial price tag. Given the incorporation of both a battery electric propulsion system and a hydrogen fuel cell, the manufacturing costs are expected to be substantial.

Even with a premium price tag befitting an 800-horsepower supercar, it is likely that Hyundai will operate at a financial deficit for each unit sold. Moreover, the latest source to confirm Hyundai's approval for the production of the N Vision 74 is the Korean-language news agency ETNews.com. As per the report, Hyundai has purportedly received the green light to manufacture 100 units of the N Vision 74.
Motor1.com cited ETnews report. Out of these, 70 units are designated for road use, while the remaining 30 are intended for participation in renowned motorsports competitions held in North America and Europe. Production is reportedly scheduled to commence in 2026.
