Excitement is building as Range Rover opens waiting lists for its highly anticipated electric SUV set to make a splash next year. Land Rover is getting into electric cars, and they've given everyone a sneak peek with some cool pictures.

Range Rover, Land Rover's Electric SUV Debut

This famous car brand is currently testing the Range Rover, and it can go through really deep water, up to 33.4 inches! They're not just focusing on power; they want it to be the quietest and fanciest Range Rover ever, making the ride peaceful.

Active road-noise cancellation further elevates the silence within this electric marvel. With pre-orders now available, enthusiasts can secure their spot in line for this groundbreaking addition to the Range Rover lineup.

The initial electric Range Rover inches closer to the homes of affluent buyers. To pique their interest, JLR has unveiled images that offer a glimpse of the forthcoming, opulent EV SUV. Based on the Car and Driver's report, the Range Rover Electric closely resembles its gasoline-powered and plug-in hybrid counterparts. This is not surprising, as the latest generation was originally designed with an EV variant in mind.

Moreover, the premier electric model from the British marque will share the MLA Flex platform with the standard Range Rover. Despite its high-voltage battery, the EV version retains the ability to venture off-road, akin to its internal-combustion counterparts.

Prototypes of the Range Rover Electric are undergoing comprehensive testing, enduring extreme hot and cold climates, and navigating water depths of up to 33.4 inches, a mere two inches shallower than its gasoline counterparts.

Unlike fuel-driven Range Rovers, EV drivers will need to stay vigilant about proximity to charging stations, as the 800-volt architecture, optimized for rapid charging, is reliant on their accessibility. Regarding specific technical details about the impending electric model, there remains uncertainty regarding battery sizes and estimated driving range.

Nevertheless, it is confirmed that the batteries and electric motors for the Range Rover Electric will be manufactured at the Wolverhampton facility in the United Kingdom, while the vehicle itself will be assembled alongside regular Range Rovers in Solihull, U.K.

As per Cars.Com, the Range Rover Electric, underpinned by the same Modular Longitudinal Architecture as its gasoline-powered counterparts, boasts an 800-volt electrical system to maximize charging efficiency. While further powertrain specifications remain undisclosed, it is stated that the EV's performance will rival that of a V-8-equipped Range Rover.

Land Rover has indicated that the Range Rover Electric is slated for arrival in 2024, with a current waitlist open for prospective buyers eager to be among the first to possess it. Anticipate a more comprehensive reveal, extending beyond teaser photographs, in early 2024 as the vehicle's launch date approaches.

What the Brand Promises

As reported in Gadget, Thomas Müller, Jaguar Land Rover's Executive Director of Product Engineering, the company is progressing toward producing the quietest Range Rover ever. Müller stressed that the brand's main features, such as its classic look, peaceful cabin, and ability to go off-road, will not change, even though it now has no emissions.

Range Rover's classic design, serene cabin, and off-road capability will not alter, Müller said, even though it has no emissions. The brand has set industry standards. The Range Rover Electric will be made in the UK and will be added to the list along with mild hybrid (MHEV) and plug-in electric hybrid (PHEV) models, giving customers a choice of different types of cars to suit their needs.
