For those struggling to choose an SUV for outdoor adventures, it's a common challenge. The market now offers numerous rugged two-row mid-size SUVs. Fortunately, the 2024 Honda Passport TrailSport aims to simplify the selection process.
What's New from Honda in 2024
Car and Driver shared its evaluation of 2022 Passport TrailSport. According to the website, Honda made remedy for some shortcomings in its 2024 Passsport TrailSport model. It cited some hardware changes particularly in the suspension and tires.
The 2022 Passport TrailSport that was assessed featured 18-inch 245/60R-18 Firestone Destination LE2 all-season tires, suitable for urban use but ill-suited for off-road adventures. Presently, the TrailSport model is equipped with the same-sized General Grabber A/T Sport all-terrain tires, characterized by robust and aggressive tread patterns.
Pricing: 2024 Honda Passport TrailSport
The 2024 Honda Passport TrailSport, with a starting price of $45,875, incorporates a reasonable $900 increase from the previous year, considering the added features. For those seeking further customization, Honda offers Honda Performance Development packages at $2250, which include black 18-inch alloy wheels, black lug nuts, taillight accents, and an alternative grille.
Adding fender flares increases the package price to $2800. While the tested model had a dealer-installed oil-pan protector, enthusiasts may wish for the availability of a suspension lift to enhance off-road capabilities.
Car and Driver further stated that for those considering whether to embrace a more rugged aesthetic or not, the TrailSport's genuine off-road enhancements provide owners with the assurance to explore further from the parking lot without worrying about sacrificing their daily driving experience.

Specifications
All-wheel-drive 2024 Honda Passport TrailSport 4-door wagons seat 5. Costs at least $45,875. Its 3.5-liter V-6 engine produces 280 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 262 lb-ft @ 4700. Another specification is a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Overall dimensions are 189.1 inches long, 78.6 inches broad, and 72.2 inches tall. Additionally, the passenger area is 57 cubic feet and the freight area 78. Driving takes 6.0 seconds to reach 60 mph in this 4,250-pound automobile. A quarter mile takes 14.6 seconds in the 2024 Honda Passport TrailSport at 115 mph. It scores 21 mpg on the freeway, 19 in the city, and 24 overall, according to the EPA.
On the otherhand, MotorTrend stated that this model is better. One major upgrade is Firestone Destination LE 2 tires. They have been replaced with General Grabber A/T Sport tires in 245/60R18. The tough-looking Firestone Destination LE 2 tires have all-season tread.
These General Grabber tires feature a true all-terrain tread and come at a similar cost from Tire Rack. Surprisingly, while there were complaints about tire noise with the Firestones, the Generals were considerably quieter. They do produce some noise, but unless the radio is off, conversations remain undisturbed, even when the powerful V-6 engine is running smoothly.
