China's prominent electric vehicle manufacturer, XPeng, has long been recognized for its ambitious endeavor in the realm of flying cars. The company has set its sights on commencing mass production of the XPeng AeroHT's Modular Flying Car by the final quarter of 2025.

Xpeng AeroHT's Modular Flying Car to Start Mass Production

The exciting news is that prospective buyers won't have to wait until then to secure their own, as XPeng AeroHT has unveiled the opportunity to pre-order this innovative marvel as early as the fourth quarter of 2024, with deliveries slated to initiate in the same timeframe of 2025.

During a recent press gathering at CES in Las Vegas, XPeng's electric aviation subsidiary, AeroHT, revealed fresh information into two of its groundbreaking airborne vehicles. Alongside the captivating live demonstrations of its innovation - eVTOL flying supercar, XPeng AeroHT also unveiled its imminent mass production plans for the versatile "Land Aircraft Carrier."

XPeng emphasized its unwavering commitment to crafting the most secure and intelligent electric flying cars for personal use. Reports had it that  XPeng Motors, the counterpart in the domain of mobility, has indeed showcased remarkable technological advancements. Nonetheless, it is widely contended that AeroHT's technological innovations surpass even those of XPeng Motors.

In the year 2022, on XPeng's annual 1024 Tech Day, AeroHT unveiled its seventh-generation flying car. While some have loosely applied the term "flying car" to various prototypes, this particular model stands out as a bona fide electric vehicle that seamlessly transitions from driving on the ground to deploying propellers and achieving liftoff into the skies.

Features, What It Offers: Xpeng AeroHT Flying Car

At Tech Day 2023, AeroHT showcased two new "flying car" concepts, one of which improved on the flying supercar. The AeroHT series now includes a 6x6 all-wheel-drive electric vehicle with a rear eVTOL platform - an amazing vehicle, the "Land Aircraft Carrier."

At CES in Las Vegas, XPeng and AeroHT announced that this innovative invention will begin mass production. Moreove, AeroHT has announced that the Land Aircraft Carrier has successfully undergone all the necessary tests during its research and development validation phase and has now initiated the preparations for mass production.

XPeng AeroHT, although indicating that the final design of the "flying car" is still under development, has provided the following expected specifications for potential scaled production in 2025.

Ground Module, a Battery Electric Vehicle

It offers seating for 4-5 passengers and is equipped with an extended-range electric powertrain that can recharge the eVTOL air module multiple times. It features a three-axle, six-wheel configuration enabling 6×6 all-wheel drive and rear-wheel steering.

Air Module, an Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing aircraft

On the other hand, it is a fully-electric piloted aircraft capable of vertical takeoff/landing and low-altitude flights. Its electric propulsion system is designed to meet safety requirements in the event of a single-point failure. The eVTOL supports both manual and autonomous flight modes, and it boasts a 270° panoramic two-person cockpit that offers a wide field of view.

As stated in a report, the XPeng AeroHT's Modular Flying Car, often referred to as a "flying car," may seem perplexing at first glance. However, it doesn't rely on magical motor technology to defy gravity like in science fiction movies.

It flies using drone-like propellers. Its design resembles a giant flying drone rather than a vehicle. Additionally, it allows users to deploy a drone from the car's trunk, offering a partial realization of the dream of a "flying car" from a technical standpoint.
