Between 2024 and 2026, Stellantis N.V. planned to release eight more models built on the revolutionary STLA Large platform. This all-electric platform will transform the D and E automobile sectors globally, beginning with the Dodge and Jeep brands in the North American market and then expanding to other Stellantis marques including Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, and Maserati.
Stellantis: Eight Novel, Versatile Designs for the STLA Extended Platform
The STLA Large platform is the second global electric vehicle (BEV) platform that Stellantis has released for its next-generation cars. The company has developed four BEV platforms in total. Plenty of different full-size automobiles in the D and E classes should be on sale by 2026; they will all be built on the same base.
Though the company's goals for its STLA platforms seem lofty, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares stressed that they align with what the company's clientele is already requesting. CarBuzz offered current details about Stellantis's most recent venture.
Reportedly, he underscored the objective and pivotal function of the STLA platforms in fulfilling the demands of contemporary clients. The versatility and adaptability of the platform allow for the construction of cars that surpass existing offerings and cater to the specific preferences of each Stellantis brand's consumer base, making it a unique asset.
In order to satisfy consumer expectations in significant foreign markets, this technique is essential. It offers a wide range of cars and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) that are all advantages of electric power due to its instant torque delivery and zero emissions.

Consequently, the platform allows for the incorporation of diverse suspension modules and interior layouts, along with adaptable drivetrain configurations supporting front-wheel drive (FWD), rear-wheel drive (RWD), and all-wheel drive (AWD) for the models utilizing it.
According to reports, internal combustion engines and hybrid systems are compatible with this platform, and Stellantis has indicated that it has the capability to integrate front-wheel, rear-wheel, or all-wheel drive configurations as well.
Speaking of the STLA Large Platform's physical dimensions, it can accommodate a wheelbase ranging from 113.0 to 121.1 inches (2,870 to 3,075 mm). What's intriguing is that Stellantis explicitly mentions that this fresh platform has the capacity to deliver exceptional power, surpassing the performance of any existing Hellcat V8 engines.
One crucial feature of the STLA Large platform lies in its technological adaptability, facilitating a wide range of vehicle options and maintaining a consistent level of quality through standardized components. This approach supports efficient and cost-effective manufacturing methods that can be duplicated in multiple assembly facilities.
The platform's architecture allows for large differences in wheelbase, length, breadth, height, and ground clearance to fit multiple vehicle types. Modern materials ensure the perfect strength-to-weight ratio, resulting in superior performance. Additionally, the platform incorporates energy-efficient components to maximize driving range.
One notable feature of the first generation of propulsion elements is the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than two seconds. Moreover, the quick charging is another stand-out feature. Its 800-volt battery packed maybe charged at 4.5 kilowatt-hours per minute.
With an impressive commitment, the company has allocated over €50 billion toward electrification endeavors, setting its sights on achieving a 100% Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) sales share in Europe and targeting 50% in the United States by the year 2030.
