At a cost of $112 plus installation fees, owners of 2018-2022 Honda Accords now have the opportunity to enhance their vehicles for seamless compatibility with both wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as Honda recently unveiled. The business has released a software upgrade that is optimized for older Accord model and includes wireless support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Older 2018-2022 Honda Accords Turns Techy-Savvy

This exciting upgrade is accessible to approximately 631,000 eligible Accord owners. Notably, this enhancement is applicable to vehicles that were originally equipped only with wired versions of Apple and Google's phone projection interfaces, as the wireless feature was initially restricted to specific trim levels.

Honda permits its dealerships in offering an opportunity for 2018-2022 Accord owners to enjoy the benefits of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through its affordable $112 plus software update. While this enhancement won't be available as an over-the-air update and requires the expertise of a dealer technician, it is achieved through a software update, making it accessible to Accord owners seeking these wireless capabilities.

CarScoops provided details about this latest update from Honda. The car manufacturer also foresees that its recently introduced $112 plus software update will empower a potential 631,000 existing 2018-2022 Honda Accords with the capability to seamlessly employ third-party infotainment software via wireless connectivity.

According to a report from The Drive, while Honda has not provided explicit details regarding the specific year and trim configurations eligible for this enhancement, the sheer popularity of the Accord as one of the world's best-selling sedans over several decades implies a substantial number of vehicles that could potentially undergo this retrofit.

For individuals in the market looking for a certified pre-owned Accord from the previous generation, there's an added reason to make the purchase.  According to Car and Driver, this is because Honda has announced that it will provide a complimentary software update on qualifying CPO models.

2022 Honda Accord Hybrid: Feature Upgrade Available at Honda Dream DreamShop

According to The Drive, car owners can access this functionality via the Honda DreamShop website, with a price tag of $112 plus installation costs. The upgrade will be carried out exclusively at authorized Honda dealerships. There they will apply the update by physically connecting to the vehicle.

Honda's spokesperson explained that over-the-air updates are not possible for the earlier model Accord. Additionally, Honda has stated that all qualified certified pre-owned 2018-2022 Honda Accords in dealership inventory would also receive this improvement at no additional cost.

According to Edmunds, the Accord Hybrid has more fuel efficiency in addition to most of the attractive characteristics of the standard Accord. Many of the previously annoying noises produced by the powertrain have been reduced or eliminated as a result of the main improvements made to the Honda Accord Hybrid.

The pricing range for it is $27,720-$37,590. The Accord's elegant and spacious cabin, which provides passengers with an opulent and delightful ride, is one of its benefits.

It is an eco-friendly option for drivers because it also performs exceptionally well in the fuel efficiency category. Notably, the Accord's cargo space remains consistent with that of the traditional Accord model, ensuring practicality for those who need ample storage. Furthermore, a number of cutting-edge driver safety technologies that come standard increase the vehicle's overall safety.

Conversely, a small disadvantage to take into account is the Accord's somewhat low seating position, which can be a little inconvenient to get in and out of. Notwithstanding this minor annoyance, the Accord remains a strong option in its class because to its many advantages.
